Relations have soured between the Bitters and their pet Spurs fan, HH. The Hojbjerg transfer thread on GOT turned into an argument over who he’d prefer to move to, and evolved into who are the biggest bottlers against the RS. Tremendous. Start here.

We must put something, anything out

It's really fucking embarrassing. As much as Everton fans are gobshites surely some of them are starting to get onto this by now.

To be fair to Everton fans I don’t think they can be laughed at for what the club and media decide to put out, when they have no control or didn’t contribute to creating the content. If they can’t see through that, then they can have puss taken.

I’d be surprised if the club at times didn’t want to chuck the odd bone out, hoping that the fans will react and blinker them. But most of it is click bait

I think most likely the Echo/news outlets are highly dependent on limited readership and then decide they need an Everton splash. I mean why would an Evertonian read the echo in hardcopy or want to visit the website at the moment? It’s wall to wall red at the moment, long may it continue as we’ll have been more successful, but if your media outlet relies upon half it’s Income from the blue side of the city then you need something to entice them in it your business model is down the pan.

The stadium is a saga that can run and run, has loads of levels of reporting. Politics, community engagement, design, planning, renewal, finance, schmaltzy pieces about goodison, images, re-run of failed attempts and why this is different, etc

Yeah there's some truth in that the actual fans cannot be blamed for what the club puts out. But they are fair game if they then repeat the mantra like at least a couple of deluded fools have commented. Im pretty sure GOT while have a hot topic thread on this 'news' and the majority of them will be 'der redshites heads are falling off'!

Surely there can be only the most deluded of everton fans who think this will ever go ahead? And even if it does, they'll just be tennants in a stadium they dont own. So they'll have gone full circle in just over 127+ years to being tennants again. How's that for progress?

The Esk is getting shit on Twatter for being negative because he said planning permission will be easy to get because the local economy needs a big project like this but funding it will be the hard part.

As said above, not sure why they are looking for funding when they have two billionaires there. The money they could have borrowed from a lender would have been at an extortionate rate placing them into more financial difficulties on top of the debt they have and the fact that nearly 80 percent of their income is swallowed up by wages.

Final negotiations for funding, must have started with, "any odds lid"

I always thought you made sure funding was in place first?

Exactly! Anyone who loans them money for this project will screw them into the ground. And as you point out, why if they have a richer billionaire than us plus uncle fat man, why are they even needing to go to the market? Surely their 'backers' would loan them the money even at commercial rates?

Fucking captain RS.

LEONARD

LEONARD

Player Valuation: £50m

Anyone see the Channel 5 documentary last night 'The River Mersey Then and Now?

All very good, then they interview a retired skipper of a Mersey Ferry.

Top bloke talks about our cities attractions, The Beatles, and our 2 football clubs (plural).

Quick shot of Analfield, but no Goodison

They're fuming over on GOT that the club are taking pictures of the prem trophy and CL trophy as we won it last year and got knocked out.

Doesnt occur to them that we are still the Reigning eiropean champions but I suspect that just goes over their head as they obviously know nothing about being Euro champs.

Just seen an article about West Brom saying that their owner is worth a couple of billion and will want to spend to stay in the Premier League as he took over when they got relegated. Add that to Leeds and whether Newcastle get taken over, its going to be harder for Everton to get into the top 6 or 4. Especially if the unicorn arena ever starts and bleeds another 40 or 50 million a year out of their already shit financial state.
