Well, well, well, what do you know? He says he's no longer involved and not 'happy' at the way his interest was ended. He's clearly been told this is not now going ahead, thanks but no thanks.

No doubt there will be some everton fans who'll believe it is still going ahead but the numbers do not stack up, the club will be financially crippled if they do. Or maybe someone at everton has read my suggestion about just redeveloping the Park End and convince the church to move. They could even rebuild it behind any redeveloped Park End.

So if he's no longer involved wont they need another design or will the club have bought the designs from him?*

*This is obviously based on it actually going ahead.

Kind of imagining this

Just read on Twatter that they have appointed a new architect to work with Laing O'Rourke. No reason given as to why they fucked off Dan Meis apart from that he was invited to be the construction architect but was "Unsuccessful". Probably downscaling his designs if it gets built.

This is quite normal. It'll be a design and build contract where the architect isn't novated to the main contractor. This would allow LO'R to tender the architectural services post-planning/tender and often contractors like to bring in consultants they're familiar with. Meis might have been asked to bid for it and may not have wanted to do it for any number of reasons. Everton could have put a novation agreement in the original appointment if they really wanted Meis to carry on with the work, again all normal parts of fee and service discussions at the outset.

Or they've said "novay, Jose".

Took me no time at all to find out that there were two architects on the design team, Meis and Pattern, who are UK based:

http://www.pattern-architects.com/project/bramley-moore-stadium-everton-fc/

Pattern are down as the 'Technical Architect' which suggests they've been involved in the detailed and technical design to date with Meis as concept architect/masterplanner and will now be producing construction drawings and information for the contractor. Nothing to see here.

Fair enough. Just odd of him to seemingly throw a strop over it on Twitter and make their fan base panic.
