Think we should announce beforehand that the derby will be used as a warm up game to give the kids a runout and any players who need games to qualify for a league winners medal and further, in agreement with all Evertonians, we have no desire for the league title to be won anywhere near there also, preferring it to be won at Anfield.

To be fair, we played a B Team against them in the league and a C Team against them in the cup and neither made any difference to their “performances”.

The actual state of them.

They'd sooner congregate in large numbers and risk catching coronavirus and potentially passing it on to their loved ones than run the risk of us winning the league in their empty stadium.

The weird cunts.

Planning to risk a spike in a disease which would cause loads of preventable deaths, while slagging us for our part in causing loads of preventable deaths.

They don’t do self-awareness, do they?

Like fuck would they be able to muster that many fans, they dont have enough when they go the game, no way they could do that when they don't go the game.

He obviously doesn't see the irony in what he's suggesting the Croc wearing cunt.

The Old Lady, fuck off. The only thing old lady about it is it’s old fashioned and stinks of piss.

Fucking weird pricks the way they suddenly started calling it that. Wonder if they are going to rob any more slogans off any other clubs in the near future.

Rangers use the born not manufactured nonsense, Shankly said we were the peoples club about 30 odd years before Moyes used it and they even have to share z cars with Walford.

What the fuck have this lot been doing during lockdown ?

@_pauljoyce
Theo Walcott will be absent for at least four weeks after undergoing abdominal surgery. Andre Gomes also has a minor issue that will prevent him from training until next week. Everton already have Yerry Mina and Jean-Philippe Gbamin injured.

We are playing Blackburn at Anfield today. Not sure they have a game planned before they play us.

Gbamin has been injured since he signed for them. One meff on GOT wanted the season voided as it would end players careers playing after such a long lay off. Funny how it's only Everton players getting injured

Surely if the season was voided then the lay off would be even longer. Of course he would have an answer to this, probably along the lines of ‘redshite merrrrderin bastards’ or some other well thought out reply.

Another question for all you locals about the lovable neighbours. What do the Bloos in-real-life think of Goodison? On the one hand they talk worshipfully about The Old Lady and all the firsts, but on the other hand they've spent an entire generation bigging up any and every half-baked proposal to leave. Is there any attachment to the place?

To anyone else especially us red-shite its the most intimidating ground in the world, the first ground to have... (insert 3000 of the most pointless facts ever) and far better than our soulless lego manufactured stadium full of Norwegian wools.

Between themselves its a lower tier ground and they can't wait for Bramley Moore to be built to put them right back on their rightful throne. "Everton aren't we"

They just go on about how great an atmosphere it generates and talk about "Goodison under the lights" for the night games. Even though their only really famous night games are a 4-4 draw with us and the Bayern Munich game in 85.

There's more of a myth regarding the atmosphere there than the myth they talk about Anfield having a great atmosphere. I think they associate a great atmosphere with a crumbling stadium that is not far off some of the ones you would see in Argentina.

As the ground is not like anything else in the Premier League due to a lot of grounds being modernised they mistakenly see this as it being intimidating and unsettling the opposition players with the Buckley Hill style away changing rooms.  The love of Goodison is more nostalgic rather than anything it creates modern day.

The changing rooms and facilities are outdated by about 30 years. The have a small corporate section behind the managers bench but a lot of the corporate stuff they do in pubs over the road or nearby. They need to move because of this as there's no scope to expand those facilities. Their matchday revenue only amounts to £14m a season.

The away section is probably the worst in the league along with Palace and the Anfield road end. That stand is almost like a relic and travelling back in time. If you look at photos from the 80s onwards, apart from the park end the ground looks exactly the same.

I'm sure a lot of them are attached to it as it is where they have grown up watching their team but a few of them are realistic enough to know that the longer they stay there the further they will be left behind which is why they want to move all the time.

Put yourself in their shoes.

If you’d been going to goodison for decades with your mates to watch the team you love - even though you know it’s a shithole and the majority of the time you’ve spent there has been watching rubbish and jeering at least as often as cheering - you’d have a fondness for the place.

shit places can still mean a lot to us, that’s what sentimentality is.

but, while it has this sentimentality, it’s still a shot hole and you know that and so want something nicer and shinier.

their feeling of fondness for a place they’ve been attached to for so long is understandable and reasonable. Their desire for something new and better is, too.

all the fluff around ‘banks of the royal blue Mersey’ and ‘rightful place’ is neither here nor there.

To be fair, some of them are as attached to woodison as we are to Anfield. Ive been to derbies where there's been a great atmosphere there, none of the absolute bile you get at games now. Cant speak for any other games because I dont go to them.

I still cant get my head around why they dont simply develop the Park End again. They could double the size of the stand and join into the Bullens. It would save them a shit load of money and even more heart ache over a stadium that wont get built. Still, up to them.
