He's taken on a job of polishing a turd, never an easy task and I just can't see him making a major difference in the short term.

He's got a massive task ahead of him there, and I can't help thinking that his real motivation was to secure himself a massive pension fund contract as he's not getting any younger, and I don't think he will have it all his own way in the transfer windows.

Interesting times ahead.

The difference between doing a great job at Eb and getting sacked is 8th and 14th. Not a whole lot of hard work in that tbh.

Yep. About five points usually.

Already looking like a disgraced royal, Ancelotti. Be surprised if he got to the end of the season.

Building a stadium or financing training facilities or whatever isn’t covered by FFP so they can fund that however they want.

I'm still intrigued as to how anyone thinks it would make financial sense for Usmanov - or anyone else - to shell out more than half a billion quid on it.

He's still their most successful manager in recent years with his 8th place Euro qualification. Previously it was Moyes in 2005 but they don't want him back. Carlo has some big shoes to fit into.

Lest we forget Martinez and koeman both got them in Europe. Without them we wouldn’t have had that Devine comedy

Spare a thought for moyes he must have thought he was nailed on to return to Goodison park before Carlo was appointed.

He’ll bide his time until Carlo walks. Then they will have no choice but to turn to the prodigal son.
