We are in danger of going full bitter over this. Fair play to Ev they have done well getting a proper manager and he will probably have some limited success there. Longer term who knows but that can be said for most clubs.

You think? Everyone seems to be accepting it's a great appointment, but that gap between their expectations and the likely reality is astronomical - as usual (except for the great appointment bit).

The gobshites on their forums are not representative imo. Most bloos I’ve spoken to aren’t under the same illusions .

Yeah. You can understand the excitement after being miss managed for years, but they don't half get ahead of themselves. They genuinely believe they'll have a few billion to spend and it'll just be a case of taking a FFP hit this season to have an assault of the league/top four next season. Some even believing they'll win the title or a few cups, like bringing in a big name manager guarantees success despite your squad being utter dross. Wanking themselves silly about buying up all the talent, and for some strange reason Zlatan and his zimmer frame. They're setting themselves up for a massive fall and we will still be the winners because we get to see Angies tits!

On a serious note, they are all banging on about it not being about the money as he could have gone to China. Probably too simple to realise he'll be more than happy with what they are prepared to pay him (if rumours are true) and the fact he may not want to move to fucking China with his family when he can stay in Europe.

Yeah, Champions of Europe, top of the league and unbeaten all season. Playing amazing football and competing in the World Club Cup, through to the knock out stages of the Champions League.

I'm absolutely shitting bricks here.

How about they just think about themselves for a second and not how appointing a manger (albeit a world class one) would bother us? I mean they might actually start to put up a decent show against City and help us out.

Fucking mutants.

I thought he must be talking about Crystal Palace or West Ham?

The grammar though, just look at that grammar!

Theres still time for BGB to scupper the deal.

A deal agreed in principal is not the same as a deal put in front of someone to sign. If they've promised Ancelotti this that and the other, he'll want it in black and white before he signs anything.

Liverpool fans being concerned about Everton getting Ancelotti is akin to a millionaire that lives in a Mansion with numerous super cars parked in the garage being bothered about the bloke that lives in the semi-detached a few streets away buying a brand new Ford Focus. Sure it's functional, nice to drive but it'll be competing with the Vauxhall Astra's and Kia Ceed's of the world.

Al he has to do is sell the tonne of shite they can’t shift on loan, then the tonne of shite in the squad, then spend another £500m. How?

They're convinced Usmanov is going to throw a few billion in their coffers and take a FFP hit and just move on aka City/PSG style.

I really like Ancelotti, but this will end in tears. He won't get jack shit out of that squad. On top of that his only hope signing players if there is any money, will be over the hill or close to players on a fortune in wages.

As it stands he won't improve them much. Ancelottis sell by date was about three jobs ago. Tactically and defensively good, but this isn't Italy or anywhere else where he have had a very good squad. They should be to good to down on paper unfortunately and Drunksey got them a few good points to help that.

My bet is on him being out the door within 18 months if the money is not there to rebuild the squad, even if they are is his appetite there for a very long term project ? I doubt it. Smells more like the final paycheck and then retirement.
