Yeah, he became fully realised potential, but he was scoring goals and looking like the young prodigy he was under Ged as well.

He was influential under Ged and his potential was obvious. He only averaged about 5 or 6 goals a season though and didn't score too many until he hit his mid 20s and Rafa came in.

Everton women beat Liverpool Women in the Cup today at Anfield. A win at Anfield. Something their male colleagues haven’t achieved in forever.

Did you pop down too? Thought it was a bargain at £5 a ticket for the Kop.

In fairness, I thought a draw as probably fair. Liverpool's midfield were too conservative and Everton's attack pretty toothless. They seems to struggle when we put pressure on them and Babajide was sublime when she came on. Just a shame we didn't make more use of pushing them to the line and boxing it in.

Can we not take this to the shitness of modern football thread?

Looking at that report it looks like Everton are screwed if they stay at Goodison or somehow magic £700m off some Chinese bank at a high interest rate. The club would have to absorb another £45m per year to repay the stadium which was roughly around what Spurs originally stated what they would have to repay. Except they were in the CL and also have a few players they can flog if they dont qualify this season.

Everton are unlikely to qualify for European football this season and are already £35m down after their transfer business in the summer. Their income is likely to stay the same - £15m-£16m and they have limited corporate facilities. The shitter they do each season impacts upon their ability to get partnership/sponsorship.

They've been binned off by two sponsors this season according to my Evertonian mate. Moshiri has said he's not putting any more money in and hes owed about £375m which he has put on the club. So they will need to not only sell to buy each season but make a decent profit on any transfer activity to put it back into the club.

Sacking Marco Silva will cost them a couple of million along with any backroom staff they would have to pay off. Then you would have to convince a new manager to go there.

The whole Premier League sustainability rules mean that Moshiri could have to find even more cash by 'Secured Funding' effectively means the owner has to make an injection of cash (equity) into the club or has to irrevocably mortgage specific liquid assets/funds up to the required value. In this case that value could be £100m or more, on top of the hundreds of millions he's thrown in already. (and any projected losses for the next two years if I read it right)

If those projections are accurate then what investors would risk loaning them crazy money for their vanity project, when a simple cheaper smaller stadium would suffice. They undoubtedly know this but are delaying the announcement for fear of the backlash.

Basically why it has been dragged out for almost 4 years. According to that report they spent £11.7m on stadium designs and studies. Yet that Dan Meis is revered because he got an Everton tattooed.

I would love them to get deducted points if they have broken the sustainability rules. They have called us cheats for the last two seasons and suck off Man City so it would be ironic if they got done for financial irregularities. They've been looked at before over vague or dubious ownership with Moshiri and Usmanov.

Even a smaller stadium costing £300m seems to be beyond them now. Remember, the one on the docks was supposed to be a big tourism pull (even though they hate our foreign fans) and was supposed to put the loft conversion to shame.

Who realistically can they sell for good money.

Richarlison, Digne

Would they get £50m for him though?. He scores about 10 a season and falls over every time he gets near the penalty area. Dont even remember how much they paid for Digne.

They need someone like Rooney to come through again so they can get some money off their manc masters.

I didn't think the Premiership sustainability one takes points, just cash.

They can't sell anyone good because they would be weakening an already shit squad by selling the best players. They could do with shifting some of the unflushables but good look with that, they're not leaving. December is a tough month for all teams, the fixtures come thick and fast and many teams struggle. They have some horrific fixtures in December and it's difficult to see how they could pick up any points in that month unless something truly miraculous happens.

It's a pity because it's unfair on clubs like Bolton who will probably now get relegated to the third tier and Birmingham. I know they are under the EFL but they are smaller clubs who haven't had the benefit of the big Premier league TV deals.

It's going to be a slow decline for Everton and the longer we are competing at the top it will burn their heads out.

Any player with any ambition wont go there, let alone a manager. With no extra income the quality of their squad will deteriorate.

“now let's say we get a few of the players we have been linked with in - the likes of Strootman (20m), Witsel (25m) and we go for Butland (30m) and VVD (30m), we buy Milik or Janssen for 15m

thats 120m spent, and probably looking at around 500k in wages (again a generous estimate)

leaves the club with 90m and 500k in wages still burning a hole in our lovely Iranians pocket, but no statement signing, just some very good ones that will make the team very competitive, say we then blow a 30m bid on Perisic (current flavour of the month after his Euro exploits and also a position we depserately need sorting) and we give him parity with rom on wages - so another 140k and 30m gone

we are then left with a 60m and 360 pw situation, to go out their and target a 'statement' signing for the club to propel us into the spotlight, go throw that at Madrid, offer them their asking price for James Rodriguez and see what they actually say when we slap the money on the table, and see what his agent says when we offer to double his current 110k pw wages.

Honestly it sounds mental even typing this out, but money talks in football, and if we are serious in making a statement then we couldn't make a bigger on than this"

That post will go down in the annals. Literally every sentence was wrong.
