It's a rinse and repeat cycle with this lot. They do it to themselves every pre-season before a ball is even kicked. They hype people up to unobtainable and unrealistic limits, based on nothing tangible, and then the anger, rage and customary blue dejection kicks on when these individuals aren't able to reach the unrealistic standards expected of them.

From Steve Walsh to Brands. From Barkley to Tom Davies. From Niasse to Tosun. From Walcott to Iwobi. From Sandro Ramirez to Moise Kean. From Klaasen to Vlasic.

They don't give them a chance. They come straight in and are expected to instantly hit unrealistic highs set by the most deluded fan base in the league.

They do it to themselves and they never learn their lesson. It's hard to feel sorry for them.

They are the most deluded supporters in the country and probably Europe.

Plus the kind of shite posted early with that rambling bollocks about supporting a club is a great example of their stupidity.....all clubs fans love the club and the club is in their heart, but they think it is just them or they love their club more. The we go the game shite was a great example (the club of course are most at fault for starting it) - do the stupid gets think other teams fans don't go....

They have a massive inferiority complex so they try and come across as laughably superior in all sorts of stupid meaningless and transparent ways to try and hide it, and the shitter they get and the longer they stay shit the worse and the stupider they get trying to find ways of hiding it.

Accept it

  1. No trophies in 22 years.
  2. No derby wins in almost 10 years.
  3. 5 managers in 7 years.

Accept mediocrity. The club clearly have

I bet they will wake up in a cold sweat with the word "mediocre" echoing round in their heads once their team improves.

This match report is a thing of rare beauty. Punchline in virtually every sentence.

This bit......

That was the rate at which Manchester City appeared to be heading for a Premier League record interval lead. A big screen obligingly kept the crowd informed of what was going on at the Etihad,

Really?

They live in a different World.

Yeah, but how fucking brilliant are they? There's barely a day passes when the bloos don't make me laugh.

We played TNS in the first qualifying round, and had to play a couple more qualifying rounds before we could guarantee a place in the group stage. We couldn't prepare a proper pre-season because we had 6 competitive games to play in July and August of that year (plus a glorified friendly with the UEFA Super Cup in Monaco). They just had to get past Villarreal in the last qualifying round - a side from a league that was about a month behind in its preparations for the new season. By claiming that we always get easy draws, they are saying that Villarreal were some sort of Spanish superpower. They weren't. They were just a small club with a pretty decent but not exceptional squad, and with no European pedigree.

Villarreal... They're like the equivalent of getting Bournemouth or something.

I've just seen their MOTD highlights from last night.

Considering Digne is supposed to be one of the few genuinely good players in that squad, he looked like he was wading through treacle for Sheffield United's one shot on target.

I don't get the fuss about digne. He's alright going forward some times, but he's a pretty shocking full back and why he does going forward nowhere near makes up for his inability to defend.

Are they seriously so deluded that they believe that a multiple Champions League and national championship winner who will only work with the guarantee of a supply of blank cheques will go there to try and shoehorn them into the top 6 ?

Mourinho would see them as attractive a proposition as standing barefooted in a particularly runny dogshit.
