They're both very poor clubs. How could you expect them to try and behave like all those 18 other money bags clubs?

It's not like there's been decades worth of other clubs claiming that those 2 teams get an unfair amount of favourable decisions which might make you suspicious.

If you're going to have to VAR in the premier league then all teams need to show it on the big screen. If you can't do that, drop down to the championship.
The rs are still sulking cos we got an electric scoreboard before them.

How the fuck did Greg OKeefe get a job at the Athletic? Bet Dave Prentice is fuming he didn't get headhunted.

They asked Prentice for a sample of his work & he sent a copy of his communal Liverpool/Everton team and his thought processes.

You're either Dave Prentice or Greg O'Keefe on a windup.

It's funny the way loads of evertonians know people high up in the council who said that der redshite got funding for the main stand, and know loads of people high up in the FA who are quite open about everyone helping Liverpool out.

Also they know loads of spurs fans who got battered in Madrid but no one else knew about.  Or loads of them know the Man City staff who were on the coach which got bottles thrown at it saying everyone could have been killed. Or they knew loads of people who saw Robbie Fowler take smack despite him never failing any of these stringent drug tests.

Up the doping injecting reds !!

Morning !!

Another great 'alleged' Everton first.

How Everton won the league on performance enhancing pills: the sordid tales of drugs and football

................Everton have been implicated - and apparently found out - in the past.

Perhaps the most shocking instance was in the 1960s, when the Sunday People newspaper “exposed” Everton’s title-winning team of 1962/63 as being driven by amphetamine use - and more specifically Benzedrine.

Quote marks are used because the People’s whistle blower, Everton goalkeeper Albert Dunlop, was later claimed to have been an unreliable witness and driven by payment for his story dangled in front of him by the Sunday newspaper.

But at the time the story was sensational.

Written by People journalist Michael Gibbert and published in 1964, it claimed amphetamine use among Everton players in the 1961/62 season and during their championship-winning season of 1962/63.

Players were reported to have taken the drug Driamyl, popularly known as Purple Hearts, and Benzendrine, before games for performance and recreationally at parties in the evening after games.

Dunlop, nearing the end of his playing career, said: “I cannot remember how they first came to be offered to us. But they were distributed in the dressing rooms. We didn’t have to take them but most of the players did.

"The tablets were mostly white but once or twice they were yellow. They were used through the 1961/62 season and the championship season which followed it.

“Drug-taking had previously been virtually unnamed in the club. But once it had started we could have as many tablets as we liked. On match days they were handed out to most players as a matter of course. Soon some of the players could not do without the drug.”

According to Paul Dimeo’s book A History of Drug Use in Sport: 1876 – 1976, Dunlop became one of those addicts.

He wrote: “The goalkeeper at that time, Albert Dunlop, came forward as the key witness, explaining that the club trainers handed out the pills during training and an hour before matches. The players would take up to four pills before big matches, and sometimes - as during their 4-0 win over Chelsea ‘literally ran the opposition into the ground’ (Sunday People, 13 September 1964).

“The story was given a further edge of seriousness by the fact that Dunlop ended up addicted to the drugs and to alcohol which led to him being dropped by Everton and eventually hospitalised.

Club denied any complicity in alleged drug use of players

“The club’s board members issued a statement that denied any complicity in the drug use but did admit some mild stimulant drugs had been used by the players ‘entirely as a latter of personal choice and medically, we are told, these pills, in the quantities taken, could not possibly have had any harmful effect on any player’ (The Times 12 September 1964).”

Disappointingly the magnificent ledgers of the Everton Collection website, which contains minutes of Everton board meetings from 1887 to 1964, fold just short of the 1964 campaign.

But Dunlop’s career ended in acrimony. Ivan Ponting’s elegant Player by Player volume says: “After his retirement Dunlop was involved in brushes with the law.”

If only there were some widely publicised way City may be breaking the rules, investigated by all the major governing bodies within the game, which the FA could utilise to curb their huge financial advantage over all other competitors, rather than have to gerrymander refereeing decisions for the redshite every single week.

I suppose the former would just be too obvious and not as easy to get away with subtley. Shame, as must be a tedious overhead having to draw all referees and officials into the conspiracy.

Surely if such a document existed then his " mate " would have no problem getting a copy .

I mean if any of us saw a document pointing the finger at say City or Utd you could bet your arse we'd be getting it out to the press and other interested parties

God I love Nevertonians. They are so predictable, close to going with generally unintelligent.

Every transfer window they win. This year it's lasted three games and they are crying already. At least most of them is related  and can baaaah on eachothers shoulders. Half inbred, half sheep.
