Fair enough.  It’s still rubbish though.  They aren’t trying to sell players at a profit just like we aren’t but if players want out then they go.  I think they offered him 50k a week back then which was unheard of and he turned it down.  Lukaku had 2 years left and was refusing to sign a new deal and they got offered stupid money for him.

Yes, the young Rooney the first time not the washed up whoremonger that they took off utd.

I think in their own deluded way they believe they can keep great players, unfortunately they can't. I should have said they buy half decent players who don't want to stay at a shit club so they turn a decent profit each time. In any case they've certainly cashed in on their best players, just like Southampton. Maybe if those players actually saw some ambition they might have stayed, maybe not.

It's just generally hilarious that they've pissed away serious cash on so many poor buys, most of the profits have been wasted and hundreds of millions of the money Moshiri loaned them has been burned on shite too.

Yeah I get you.  Southampton reacted the same way when their best players wanted to leave as well.  My point was that it’s never their intention. I think they are trying to compete.  They’re just fucking terrible at it but their hands are tied.

Seeing @Walter Sobchak posting here reminded me of this:

Text my bluenose mate last night saying we beat Villarreal for them after Colina cheated them in 05.

I was deliberately condescending.

The fume was fucking delicious.

One of the fringe benefits of Number Six is that not closing out the wins over Dortmund and Villarreal by beating Sevilla doesn't matter any more. All roads under Klopp led to Madrid. Meanwhile the Bloos engage in ever more elaborate contortions to explain why winning the Cup Winners Cup in 1985 was a greater achievement.

When for years their transfer kitty mainly consisted of the cash they got from sales of their best players, it's easy to see why.

Well there's only so many players that a club can sign, so I can see the logic in signing for a mid table club and then putting yourself in the shop window. This has gone on for years and some clubs do it to get cash (ssshhh don't tell their fans)

That some go on to sign for better clubs then shows that they indeed do have ambition, the shitter ones with no ambition accept mid table mediocrity and kicking RS players for legend status.

It’s as if Heysel is some sort of genetically engineered virus designed only to infect a narrow stratum of clubs (1) within the English League. Funny that. There really ought to be a nationally televised debate to put this shibboleth to bed.

Hahah forgot about this.

Awww mate iv had him good and proper the last few months.

Started off at around Easter when I said id seen their new keeper kit for next year and sent him a pick of them Trex outfits you see everywhere.

After the last game he sent me a text saying we lost the league at goodison and I reminded him they have lost the league at goodison every year for the las 30 odd years.

lastly the other week he text me saying he was moving back to Liverpool after living 25 of his 30 years living in wales. Made some jibe about supporting his local team as I don't live in Liverpool anymore. Asked for his address on the pretext of sending him a card, googled his address and he lives a mile closer to Anfield than Goodison. Truly fantastic fume that was!

They are, as I said, fucking shit!

The brother is getting giddy on Facebook, doing a count down to finishing work so he can go the pub to watch Everton go top of the league.

I can only take my brother in small doses at the best of times, can’t imagine If he was one of them. It doesn’t bear thinking about.

i can't make up my mind if i want them to go top or not. firstly it would be very funny how excited they would be and it could so ruin their season. but you already know they will be thinking the league is probably theirs anyway and rightfully so, they're the senior club in the city of the european champions. So for it to be shattered before they go top would be equally as funny i think. Problems, problems.

When was the last time you watched him?  The fat mutant was finished years before he even went there.  The less said about that Lukaku shout the better.

Bit early for the whisky at 08:58 mate.

My bird is a massive blue (not bitter at all) and for her I'd love to see them win something. I put her a £5 bet on Everton to win the cup this season for her birthday.

The caveat to that statement however is that I can say i'd love them to win something because I know they won't. Because they are proper shit.

Yeah, I like that too. But I love to see them suffer and they suffer most when their expectations are high and they so easily get high.
