Of course they want the bragging rights associated with one of their own winning that Golden Boy award. They'd put Davies ahead of all of our midfielders in a combined Merseyside XI by doing some mental gymnastics to state his case, yet when asked to choose their strongest Everton XI with everyone available, Davies would not be in it and those same mental gymnastics would not apply.
