*Shakes head* Everton again.

Not that i am saying this is happening here but i have seen similar where a big mouth CEO has announced a commitment that the organisation is not able to deliver on. How do you back down on that without upsetting your shareholders? (or in this case your rabid mob of slobbering gobshites) Simple, conduct an extensive and thorough investigation/Roadshow/feasibility study/blah blah whatever shit you can come up with to allow them to back out  and claim 'hey out of our control'

I wonder who they will blame...;-)

Reads like someone from Grand Old Team wrote that rather than the local and allegedly impartial newspaper.

What I don't understand is why they are taking so long to "get it right". The dock is completely deserted and there are only a few small businesses round there. Why do they need to go on this big roadshow and consult virtually everyone?. Virtually every Evertonian knows they need to move and just want them to get on with it.

The main issue would be public transport and road infrastructure, something they would be aware of and would need to speak to the council, Mersey travel and Peel about.

They are using their three failed stadium bids as an excuse to slow things down. Get in the odd dig at Liverpool and job done.

Brentford are halfway through building their stadium on one of the smallest areas of land in London.

Wimbledon have bought the old dog track and are building a new stadium in an affluent area.

Spurs had to play at WHL whilst building a new stadium around their existing one. Then on the same site build a bigger stadium on exactly the same site with almost double the capacity and it costing more. The overground station is not sufficient when you compare it to the stations around the Emirates.  Also had to arrange playing at Wembley for what is now a  season and a half.

But Everton need to do a year long public consultation to build on a derelict dock.

By the time they start building this sea levels will have risen flooding the docks.

Mother Nature will them be thrown into the Keeping Everton down conspiracy. A conspiracy with roots deep enough to have started during the industrial revolution

Why does everything they do have to be defined by whether or not we’ve done something? Just get on and build your club.

It's just the bitter mentality, it's somthing that takes decades to develop.

I know man city fans that still do the same thing, always comparing themselves to united in everything they do.

Spot on.

It just gives them more room to spout their "peoples club" shite - i mean calling it "the peoples project" FFS...absolutely laughable, but their fans will buy into that meaningless shite totally to the point where they will see it as some sort of badge of honour that "proves" what the deluded gets spout is true.

As someone else has said here everything they do has to be compared to us and used as some sort of justification that they are better than us....it is classic small man syndrome, and classic lack of self esteem and the only way to feel better about themselves is to try and put us down and scramble for some made up moral high ground.

Their fans do it all the time and even the club have got worse at it.

The way their support goes on about Heysel for example, with their indignation but sees no problem in them themselves fighting Italian supporters on mass all over the shop in the UEFA cup last season.

They are consumed by us and their inferiority is so great that all they can do is constantly attempt to hide it by throwing barbs at us, what we do etc....from the all our support is non scouse, to copying the mancs songbook, to trying to grasp at meaningless firsts and so on.

But then i suppose spending pretty much your whole life exisiting in the shadow of a far bigger, far more succesful, far more renowned neighbour is bound to hurt - so what they have built up about us is their defence/coping mechanism.....the irony is it actually makes them worse actually but they are so far gone with it they can't stop now.
