Daniel Pacheco is set to join Championship side Norwich City on emergency loan until May 31, 2011.

Most Recent News Pacheco set for Norwich loan

The deal will go through once clearance is received from the Football League.

Liverpool's No.12 is currently away on international duty with Spain U21s preparing for Thursday night's match with France.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert said: "Dani is a lad we've seen playing for Liverpool's first team this season and I've been talking to Kenny Dalglish about him for a few weeks now.

"He's technically very good as you'd expect having been with clubs like Barcelona and Liverpool and the fact he's away with Spain U21s speaks volumes for his ability and potential."

Pacheco will team up with former Red Zak Whitbread who is at Carrow Road and the Canaries are currently second in the Championship as they eye promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

Good stuff.

Guest San Don

If he was good enough, he'd be given games no mater what his size was or how old or young he is.

The plain truth appears to be no LFC manager consider he can do anything better than players already in the first team squad.

The King even gave Poulsen a couple of games. That speaks volumes imo.

I think its an excellent move for Pacheco & one he probably should have been pushing for earlier in the season. But that said he's going to Norwich who are 2nd in the Championship table with 6/7 games to go maybe more if they end up in the play offs.

Paul Lambert has done a brilliant job wit them playing passing, attractive, attacking football. As for Pacheco being too small you only have to look how well Wes Hoolahan is doing for them to see how a team can play to a small players strenghts in a tough league. The thing I'd be really interested in is how he does playing alongside Hoolahan & Holt upfront... you could argue its a lot lesser but Championship version of Suarez & Carroll, so maybe Kenny has selected Norwich as much as them coming in for Pacheco...

Either way it'll be a big few months for Pacheco & maybe a chance to prove some people wrong

Shame there aren't that many game left in the season, he needs a long run of games. Hopefully he'll get the chance to start games and hopefully Norwich will drop down into the playoffs so he can play a few more.

He'll have to work hard to get into the team though because Norwich are doing well by all accounts, and playing some decent football.

Another positive is with them being in a good position, if they can get promoted then I would have thought there would be a real good chance of a season long loan next season if he impresses, and he will then get the chance to play week in week out in the Prem for a season before coming back to us the following year a much improved player. And even if we decide he is not good enough for us after that, it would put him in the shop window and increase his value.

Yep.

The loan needs to be set up the right way too.

Under the last manager we started to loan players out but the other club paid their wages if they didn't play. What use is it to us to loan a player to not play?

We need to carry on with this.
