Chance is, none of the really top players would have come to us when not having CL football to offer. Imperative that we get back in, I think it's even more pivotal to the continental players to be in it than for the British players.

 

I think Enrique is top class though, and Downing has looked promising too, even if he was anonymous yesterday. A strike rate of 1 from 2 each transfer window isn't too bad (Suarez and Carroll, Enrique/Downing and Adam/Henderson:whistle:).

Tbh I have some worries still about Downing. For me he goes missing when we're not playing well, much like every other winger we've had over the last 10 years. Maybe that'll change once he settles but I'm not convinced by him yet.
