I've had about enough of buying Englishmen for one year.

Let's get away from it and concentrate on the continent and then revisit the local market in 12 months time, when perhaps it's entered back into the realms of reality.

20m for Jones? 20m for Henderson?

And there are Blackburn fans arguing he is worth more...fuck off, just fuck off before the fabric of time rips open at the absurdity of all this shit.

The likes of Torresma, Drogba, Essien, all cost the same.

Where are the bids for quality, assured international elite kids like Neymar, Mata, Lukaku, Shaqiri, it's embarrassing that Jones and Henderson are thought of in the same bracket as them, it's not even close, not by a long long way.

Lucas is Henderson is Lucas is Henderson. One cost 6m and the other cost 20m.

What next? A fucking 44m bid for Kieron Gibbs?

The only possible terrific thing that can happen on the back of this is that Sterling may well generate a 100m fee from City in two seasons time.

I didnt know Duff had such a strong following in Liverpool comparing him to players like Sami and Henry who are legends for their clubs. Henry was 30 and served us well for 8 years and we sold him for 16 million pound. Duff had three season in Chelsea where he made less than 30 starts in 2 of them and never was a starter and was sold for 5 million at the age of 27. Why is it so hard to accept it that he didnt live up to what they paid for and they decided to move him on and take a massive loss

Because peoples natural reflex is to oppose you.

Skysports.com understands Arsenal are ready to rival Liverpool for Birmingham defender Scott Dann.

Dann is thought to be on both club's wanted list after they lost out to Manchester United for Blackburn's Phil Jones.

Arsenal chief Arsene Wenger has made a new central defender one of his top priorities as he looks to shore up his rearguard after they looked suspect at the back last season.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is looking to bolster his squad as he seeks to get the side back in the top four and Dann figures highly on his shopping list.

Dann has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the country during the last two seasons and his absence through injury in the second half of last season coincided with the club's slump in form and eventual relegation.

Birmingham are resigned to losing their best players following their relegation and Dann is the most valuable asset.

The 6ft 5in central defender is a boyhood Liverpool fan and would jump at the chance of making the switch to Anfield if Liverpool firm up their interest.

However, Arsenal are eagerly monitoring Dann's situation and are ready to make a move for the 24-year-old.

Wenger will be hoping the incentive of Champions League football could help him win the race for Dann if Liverpool fail to push through a move for the highly-rated defender.

The eu blocked the last 6+5 rule, uefa have a hell of a time convincing them to let 9 out of 18 pass.

Think there is a feeling they might get this one through the EU, but yes it may be difficult. Factual information is not the only thing which excites a market though; speculation also plays a part. The 25 man premier league squad with eight home grown players is also a factor, and the speculation driving prices up is that the importance of home grown players will likely increase with most of the footballing bodies looking at it.

I agree with you on this, but I think we'll be in for Mata once the spanish transfer window opens 1st July.

If Downing is our no. 1 (and only) wide priority I will despair. But I don't think he is. We'll move for either Mata(most likely)/Hazard(probably he'll stay for another season)/Shaqiri/Elia as well I reckon/hope....

I am just hoping we'll break the bank for Aguero... A player like him will not be available for the next 5-5 transfer windows.. This is our chance to get him, we missed him once, let's not make that mistake again....

Someone was on TalkSport earlier (Peter Taylor?) speculating that we'll play 5-3-2 next year.

It could be an option for some more games with the players we're linked with (especially if we were to get Clichy):

------------------Pepe------------------

--------Carra--Cahill/Dann--Skrtel--------

Johnson---------------------------Enrique/Clichy

-------Henderson--Lucas--Gerrard--------

---------------Suarez--------------------

--------------------Carroll---------------

Adam would also be an option for LCM with Gerrard moving to RCM.

The players we're going for seem to fit different systems and Kenny may be looking to change things around for different games.
