Thought it was a cunt's tackle when I saw it on MOTD, and still looks the same on the stills. Yes, he went in with one foot and got the ball, but it's the follow through with the full weight of his body with no control that's the problem. Diaby was lucky not to get his leg broken there. Now maybe Barton didn't set out to break his leg, but that was reckless.

I think it was probably an overreaction by Diaby but I also expect Joey Barton knew what he was doing, and Diaby was probably reacting to the fact that it was Barton as much as anything.

Barton went in hard, Diaby dangled a leg. Barton saw an opportunity to line Diaby up as he was turning with the ball and went for it. Perfectly good tackle, anyone who disagrees probably does not play football.
