anyone ever been? few of us are heading over the end of next month , flying into frankfurt hahn anyone have any idea how long it takes to get from there to central frankfurt and any lowdown on the seedy nightlife will be greatly appreciated..

It takes half an hour mate. I've flew into there a few times. The red light district is a 5 min walk from the main train station. It's not hard to find.

 

You'll have a boss time there. The birds are sensational.

Is right. I don't even think Hahn's in Germany. If you can change to Easyjet into Frankfurt it's worth the extra 20 or 30 quid. I only flew into Hahn once, never again. Ryanair charge you for the privilege of sitting on a coach across Europe for 3 hours too. Pain in the arse.

 

Frankfurt main airport is 30 mins from centre and on numerous public transport routes.

 

Frankfurt is a great city if what you want is financial institutions and whores.

I can confirm Frankfurt is ace. Utterly tremendous in fact. Was there for 3 days in 2006.

 

My mate still talks about his experience in the "Sex Inn" to this day. Amazingly it has a gigantic neon sign stating its name down the side of the building, and is not difficult to miss. More unsurprising is what is on offer inside. We laugh so much about this particular place due to the fact we discovered it sober. At 10.30am.

Heya mate,

 

I grew up in Frankfurt so know it reasonably well. Flying into Hahn while cheap is not the thing to do. Don't know how they can call it Frankfurt anything as you are looking at about a 1.5-2 hour bus ride to Frankfurt central. Frankfurt Main airport is, as someone else mentioned, 30 min from the centre of town but Hahn isn't.

 

Someone pointed out the redlight district is close to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station). It is called Kaiserstrasse but I wouldn't reccomend it to be honest. Really seedy place and a lot of druggies down by the station.

 

If you are looking for a good time out on the razz Sachsenhausen isn't bad. It is close to the river and on one side you have mueseums and such (if you are interested in that) and on the other you have a small village of pubs. Literally every building in this place is a pub so you can just mosey around.

 

Other than there the area around Hauptwache is the place to go during the day time as the main shopping street (the zeil) is located there. If you have time have a walk up the Zeilgalarie, big shopping centre on your left a little after Kaufhof I think, because there are pretty good views of Frankfurt from the top.
