Petition to reinstate Rafael Benitez as LFC Manager

Recommended Posts

I do hate Hodgson, though.

I don't particularly like him because of his press conferences and the fact I don't feel like he's bought into the club.

I do think hate is pretty strong though and should be saved for far more deserving people than Hodgson.

Probably right.

Nothing annoys me as much as him at the minute, though.

Time is a funny thing is football.

It seems since Rafa lost the job he has become a better manager, as people who wanted him out then now want him back.

Which is odd, given he has taken a team that won the treble in Italy last season, to seventh in the league and got sacked as a result. If anything his reputation should have got worse - but because Hodgson has done such a woeful job some people want Rafa back, others never wanted him gone.

But I still won't forget the reason why I and many other fans wanted him gone last season and I don't see how people have changed their opinion based on what he has done since.

Nail on the head.

Do you really think that those that are more open to any possible return are those that did not want a change in the summer?

I certainly don't. I think those that would consider it are those that never wanted a change and those that don't want to entertain the thought are those that wanted a complete change in the summer gone.

I think a lot of people didn't want him gone, as you can see by logging on to RAWK.

Just as many, if not more, wanted him gone - judging the reaction and polls on here before he was sacked.

However what I can't understand is that some people have changed their opinions since and some who wanted him gone, now want him back. That seems odd to me, given his reputation should not be better than when he left after the job he has done at Inter.

Not really, no. With a supportive board like Rafa had here from 2004-2007, we progressed massively. That's why people want him back, because they believe/hope/think that he could do the same again with the board backing him fully.

I know that.

I have no problem with people wanting him back, who never wanted him gone. They think he was doing a good job and thought he should have stayed.

The same goes for people who wanted him gone, who don't want him back. They thought he was rightfully sacked and hence, don't want him back.

Both sides have very valid and persuasive arguments.

But what I don't understand is the people who have changed their arguments since. In particular the ones who wanted him gone, but now want him back. Judging by the polls from when he was sacked to the ones now - some people have done just that, changed their opinion. I think that percentage of people are odd, as I don't know why they have changed, as Rafa has done a poor job at Inter since.

The funniest thing would be if Henry happened to fall on the snow, hit his head really hard, and then decide to ask Rafa to be our manager and he then turned it down.

What would the Creepy Rafa Cult do then? Probably turn on Henry for not offering him enough money or something.

Humiliating. I know mancs and blues who laugh at us, well yous, for wanting Rafa back. They want us to appoint him, does that not tell you something. Best fans in the world.
