Each to their own i say, it is however a bit bad for those who are forced into a marriage for monetary/status gain rather than love. Plus i don't like the idea of marrying someone before you find out if your sexual desires match. Imagine getting married to a lass that wouldn't give you head ?? Shudders at the thought.

Regarding the arranged thing, it all comes down to what social class you belong to. There are still loads of people from poorer backgrounds who go down that typical arranged routine where the parents pick out your partner and you don't meet till the wedding.

 

Then there is the 'introduce' and 'date for a few months' method that's more popular amongst upper class folk. It's probably the route I'll be made to go down once I fly there next month.
