You think so?

Why is that?

Personally I think he could have done a job for us and added a new dimension to our game and he would be an improvement on all our strikers bar Torres, but the best, not for me.

You just have to look at his pace over long distances, and formulate a plan where he accelerates slowly from the first whistle to the last, until he's literally going faster than light.

Then hes the best.

The scene is set. The excuses are made, just in case.

Lest we be too expectant, eh, Roy?

Roy's Newcastle warning - Liverpool FC

Roy Hodgson has warned Newcastle United's players could be out to prove a point to new boss Alan Pardew when the two teams meet on Saturday evening.

The Magpies appointed the 49-year-old on a five-and-a-half-year deal on Thursday, succeeding Chris Hughton at the St James' Park helm.

And Hodgson accepts the Newcastle contingent are likely to be eager to show their new gaffer what they're capable of.

He said: "It can work both ways. I've certainly seen quotes from the players expressing surprise that Chris didn't get a new contract or a chance to continue this season, but players are very resilient.

"They are used to managers coming and going. Of course they'll have to be mindful of the fact they are playing in front of a new manager and playing for their positions.

"It could have the effect that clubs want - it could be a shot in the arm to the players."

"Newcastle's loss will certainly be someone else's gain because he has an awful lot to offer football."

He added: "I have no effect whatsoever on Newcastle United Football Club, what they do, how they play or how they approach their business.

"My sole concern is Liverpool and my message to the players is a simple one: The way we've played this last month or so is the way we must continue playing."

Noticed what?

Newcastle are crap at home and we are crap away from home, they are number 17 in the home league and we are number 17 in the away league.

Not trying to be funny here, but could you please try and explain the meaning of your post one more time as I fail to see it.

of course I will explain again my friend

9 is a number that is a bigger number than 5 as demonstrated on this scale

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

Newcastle have 9 points at home whilst we have 5 away meaning they are better at home than we are away

hope thats clear

If we don't set out like shithouses, show some bottle and attack them then we should win comfortably, especial given all the turmoil on Tyneside at the moment. If we're true to our usual away form then we'll probably get beat, a point at best. It all depends which team and manager turns up.

Or more to do with whether Newcastle get a power surge out of their new boss.

AGENDA:

League Game 17/38: v Newcastle (a)

KO: 17:30 GMT/Local 11 December

Host Broadcaster: ESPN UK

Web: Streams

The last trip pre-Christmas and the most Northern trip of the season. A decent chance to make up a lot of ground if we win this week and next week.

My mate posted me a ticket on Monday recorded delivery. It hasn't arrived 5 days later. So fuck off Royal Mail you shirking bastards, may you be privatised and fucked off.

The snow has totally fucked them up by the looks of it. Ordered some dvd's from amazon on tuesday and they usually arrive two days later every time, still waiting for them now. Just tracked the fucker though and it was posted on the 8th from the west coast of Scotland, which must be way worse.

As for the game, still going for a 1-1 draw and fat Geordie bellies flopping about in freezing temperatures in the stands.

Boss: He's been a revelation - Liverpool FC

Boss: He's been a revelation

11th Dec 2010 - Latest News

Roy Hodgson today highlighted Maxi Rodriguez's role in Liverpool's impressive run of form, describing the Argentine as a 'revelation' for his side.

Maxi's strike against Aston Villa on Monday night took his tally to three goals in his last seven appearances from his left-wing berth.

It's a sequence that Hodgson believes has not received the plaudits it deserves outside of Anfield - and the boss is eager to sing the praises of the 29-year-old.

"People have not spoken much about Maxi but he has been a revelation," said the Reds boss.

"He is a bit of an unsung hero at the moment, he's not getting a lot of credit but he's doing a great job at the moment.

"He has taken on board the work we have tried to do and embraced the role I have given him and interpreted it so well both offensively and defensively.

"Suggestions that he goes missing in a game are very harsh and I can produce statistics to prove he doesn't go missing.

"His positional play is very good, his technical ability is very good and, at the moment, with three goals he is right up there."

Meanwhile, Hodgson believes heightened confidence has been a contributing factor to Lucas Leiva's imperious performances in recent weeks.

"Lucas is working hard on the tactical side of his game and working hard on the shape of the team," added the manager.

"He is a very intelligent player and I think he is very much happy in his role.

"He knows what we are looking for from him and feels confident he can deliver it.

"On top of that he has that bit of extra confidence which being selected for Brazil brings - confidence for footballers is a vital ingredient."

They showed highlights from the 4-1 win at St James Park in 1998 earlier on. Owen scored a hattrick. It really is a shame that he's such a fucking cunt.

This is one of my favourite aways as we often play very well and have had some great victories down the years but as this season goes I could imagine a defeat or a boring draw.
