Carragher just needs reigning-in a bit.

He has too much influence and isn't exactly encouraging towards his team-mates on the pitch. Carragher and Gerrard have already started their anti-Torres campaign, after getting rid of Rafa.

A strong manager with 100% authority in the dressing room is what the club now needs. Hodgson is a joke.

That's the answer.

Pellegrini.

Demolished Raul's influence at the club and marginalised Guti.

He can do that there, Carragher would be a piece of piss.

It's getting him in the job in the first place. Wasn't it Pellegrini that was told the club only wanted a British manager?

It's getting away from the mentality of "will the new manager meet the royal approval of Carragher and Gerrard?" before deciding who gets it.

Players being publically narky with each other is a result of, not a cause of horrendous form and the increased pressure that brings. Totally agree that a proven manager would be able to unite the players initially through track record, and then through improving form.

Can you really see Torres being inspired by Roy Hodgson? I'm sure he thinks the man, and his tactics, are a joke and a hinderance to his game. Whereas Carragher and Gerrard were pleased he got the job.

That's bound to cause resentment, that only the arrival of a top manager can fix.

Torres or Carra? Torres every time. Shame we might lose our best player, whose much younger, because of Jamie Carragher, a player who's already past it.

What tremendous horseshit that really is. If Torres leaves Liverpool it'll be off his own back and will have fuck all to do with Carra giving him a rollocking.

Man, I really hope Carra gets the manager's job at some point. If only cos it'd probably wind up a whole heap of you.

I'm glad that there's finally a bit of rational discussion about the role of carra. For a long time, there is a section of fans who seemed to think that he is immune to criticism. I am not taking away from the fact that he has been a great servant to the club but nobody is bigger than the club. He was a rock at the back for a number of years (although I sometimes have the feeling that Hyppia made him better than he really was), but his form for the last couple of seasons has been patchy at best. I have nothing against him for his lost in form, which is understandable given his age, but the problem is the arrogance he has shown in "cementing" his place in the side at the expense of the team. His refusal to play right back is well-documented. Many people were criticising Rafa for indulging in politics but Carra is not an invoice in that aspect either. His role in getting Rafa being fired is indisputable. There was also this rumour that he was leaking news to the press when Rafa was trying to sign Turner. And what about the masterstroke of signing your contract extension on the day the club changed owners? I won't be surprised if he was afraid that the contract offer will be withdrawn if the new owners take a closer look....

He was arrogant in cementing his role in the team? How? By being one of the team's most consistent performers?

He didn't refuse to play right back at. He accepted the insturction to play there but made his displeasure known. Rafa then took the decision to put Skrtel there. Not exactly William Gallas levels of insubordination, eh?

As for the last part of that post. Pathetic.

Look what happened the other season when Carra and Arbeloa squared up at West Brom,Arbeloa was binned off and Carra stayed at the club.

Nothing against Carra but we possibly lost a much better in Arbeloa than Carra at the time.

I also agree that Hyypia made Carra look an even better player than he has been although Carra was a better player than he has been given credit for in the past.

Carragher getting the contract on the morning the takeover went through, stank.

Jobs for the boys from Purslow and negligence because those decisions should have been left to the new owners.
