Methinks Broughton, Ayres and Purslow DO have the power to block a sale without H & G getting Refinancing in place and THIS by them attempting to change the board as they are is the last thrashings of a dying beast.

I also think that the Three Wise Monkeys above have unleashed a nuclear missile in PR terms by releasing THAT statement about removal of the board on the Official website - The "don't bother protesting you're disrupting the team/The Yanks are fine/I won't protest" brigade CAN'T sit on their arses now - It's out in the open from the club's OWN BOARD that our OWN OWNERS are trying to block us being Sold Despite our awful recent form and what for? Their own Stinking Profit that's what despite them doing Nothing as our owners thus far; If THAT doesn't move them against the b*stard Americans en masse? Nothing will.

Well, Here's hoping the PR Missile detonates as launched and ASAP - The More numbers we have on our side to attack the Yanks with NOW? The better - Every person against them counts - THIS is the endgame people and Hicks and Gillette? Are So close to being Checkmated now you can almost SMELL it. The axeman cometh for H & G finally; And not a moment to soon either. The execution of their so-called 'regime' begins at last and I hope it takes an AGE to die and causes them the maximum amount of personal pain and damage in the process. It's the least those grasping tw*ts deserve.......................

That video was good an' all but I cannot believe that all this has come out because of a youtube video.

NO mate I think your right.

With the PR from the club tonight, its clear that we are in one of two situations, either the whole board are in cahoots to stave off RBS or and the likely option, we really do have two bidders in line and the 3 will try and ensure the deal goes through,

Whatever I think of Purslow, his methods or ideas (or indeed lies) he is a fan and therefore sure to want to rid us of the owners.

For the first time in a long time, I feel we will see the backs of the two eejits, what our new owners will be like, I havent a clue, whoever they are but at least were in the end game.

Thats irrelevant, the clubs revenue streams without debt repayments would be enough to give the manager a healthy transfer pot. Plus remember when the current owners took over, there was alot of talk about the fact Hicks wasnt scared to break the bank in signing baseball players.

If you'd bothered to look, you'd have seen that Hicks broke the bank once, circa 2000. After that he was a bargain basement peddler who let his Baseball team go to seed.

The worry is that this could also be seen as a last desperate bid by the board to sell the club before the Americans refinance, pay off the RBS, and install their own people?

Difficult to know how this will play out - or even where a legal review will take place? Which legal jurisdiction? If it's America, I'd suggest we have no chance of removing them. And does a 'legal review' preclude RBS from foreclosing?

I'd like to feel triumphalist, but somehow I doubt we can remove the cancers that easily. Cancer has a nasty way of returning.

Good thinking that.

I hope to god its not true RF but I can definitely smell something there.

Or the RBS call the loan in tomorrow, which will also answer the question of does he have the money?

Or does the club go into limbo until legal action is concluded, rendering any due date null and void?

Just to hypothesise, imagine what it would mean if they were successful with this.

Purslow, a qualified MD (albeit lacking in footballing credentials), and Ayre, who negotiated the Standard Chartered deal and has, according to all reports, vastly increased our revenue streams, are replaced by Mack Hicks (Tom's son?) and Lori McCutcheon, whose LinkedIn profile shows no prior experience and is probably a puppet.

Our board is therefore Hicks, Gillett, two no-marks and Broughton - who, it is crucial to remember, was rumoured to be resigning on Thursday earlier today.

Now, maybe I'm putting two and two together and getting five, but could this message (terrifyingly) be a final gambit from Purslow, Ayre and Broughton to try and prevent the Yanks from sacking the former two and making the club impossible to sell?

Broughton's reported decision to resign could well have been prompted by this sleazy and underhanded tactic from the Americans. Imagine if, as a final roll of the dice, they put this message up to get it in the papers and try to somehow prevent H & G from doing it. What if they have been offered refinance and just need to vote it through?

Horrible thought and very much hope it's wrong. Need those fuckers out. If they manage to use these dodgy tactics to keep hold of the club and pay off RBS, I think the gloves are off.

EDIT: Also, who's going to run the fucking club? Mack Hicks and Lori McCutcheon? Fuck off with that. Can't see how any of this will be beneficial - we'll go down the shitter.

That is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most astounding thing I've ever seen announced at the club. It was basically the official website casually announcing civil war.

It was also a disclosure of the names of ome new targets for us. We need to know as much as possible about the intended replacements and we need to know who Hicks and Gillett appoint as their lawyers, as they're targets too.

Liverpool Football Club tonight issued the following press statement:

The Board of Directors have received two excellent financial offers to buy the Club that would repay all its long-term debt. A Board meeting was called today to review these bids and approve a sale. Shortly prior to the meeting, the owners - Tom Hicks and George Gillett - sought to remove Managing Director Christian Purslow and Commercial Director Ian Ayre from the Board, seeking to replace them with Mack Hicks and Lori Kay McCutcheon.

This matter is now subject to legal review and a further announcement will be made in due course.

Meanwhile Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow and Ian Ayre continue to explore every possible route to achieving a sale of the Club at the earliest opportunity

I wouldn't pay to much attention to that official statement from the club.

After all.

Andrew Heaton says he's been told this whole story is wide of the mark and source of it is questionable.

Give the point scoring a rest. We've got bigger things to worry about.

I agree with this, I was gobsmacked. Is there anything in the fact that they are both Hicks people and that they tried to get 2 board members out? Surely one would've been all they needed out if George and Tom voted with the new puppet?

Mick, I have huge respect for you and always read your posts. And to be fair, I have the same for Andy too.
