Roy Hodgson: Liverpool FC star Fernando Torres is no cheat

my sentiments exactly. A bit of quiet dignity, when all the press where waiting for the obvious comeback - had the effect of the press turning the spotlight on that rabble's antics. A measured response that will be lost on the haters.

Don't be sensible. Everyone knows he should have called Nani a diving cunt on Sunday and told Alex to shove his wine up his arse.

If only you'd bothered to read it. He admitted it was a mistake not to say it earlier.

As a rabid hater yourself you should know.

Your comment is nonsense. He showed weakness and bad judgement in not responding immediately. Torres reputation has been damaged by almost a week of worldwide headlines and discussion about Ferguson's comments that he is a cheat. The suggestion gained strength from the fact that there was no denial from LFC. Given the media's and your agenda-driven attempt to prove that Hodgson is somehow more classy than Rafa, the inference was drawn that Hodgson did not reply because he was too fair-minded to disagree with the cheating charge.

Hodgson has responded now because he was strongly told or advised to do so, and because he has made a series of gaffs this week and needed to do some damage control, not because he controlled the situation as you laughingly suggest.
