Can you stop fucking around with your fucking hair and put more concentration in your fucking defending. If you did, you wouldn't have been continually fleeced by a 79 year old Welsh git today.

Nice one mate, thought you looked tidy yesterday in one of the toughest PL games of the season and I don't have any worries at all that you'll be able to perform for us in this league.

As for Torres, the lad's clearly done a Samson. I blame the Spanish national side myself, we sent him away for the summer with a coiffure of luxuriant magnificence and we got him back looking like he'd had bad news from the nit nurse. I can only hope that he's growing it out before creating something truly spectacular; let's hope he gets himself to the barbers before Christmas and starts banging them in again.

Fans turning against torres is not what we need,he stayed loyal in the summer so we should not get on his back like the rest.

If torres was missing chances then maybe we could say he is not performing but he is not getting any due to roys style of play making everyone stay back and leaving it up to torres to do it by himself.

Lets not forget he has just came back from injury and I see his sulking as some have put it as frustration, he is one against four most games and is just getting long balls thrown a him.

It seems to me our players arent that impressed with roy, we have gone from a master tactican to an old man who just wants everyone to stay behind the ball in our half, even when roy first came and they asked torres is roy the right man he said he hopes so,and even kenny said he could have success rather then he will.

Roy aint used to working with players of this quality and playing mid table tactics isnt getting the best out of them, we all know torres will come good if given the chances so lets not add to the stick he is getting.

This must be a joke. He was by far our greatest threat on Sunday and Utd defenders were scarred to death by the sight of him on the ball. He also stole the ball from Utd defenders on a couple of occasions. For Christ's sake, he has just been back from a serious injury, and I wouldn't mind if he stations on the edge of the penalty box throughout the 90 mins.

And I don't think his attitude is worse than our captain last season, and I didn't hear anyone complaining, certainly not from the pundits and commentators. I know I may sound paranoid but I think there is a systemic effort by the media in general to unstable Torres and chase him out of Anfield. What makes me sad is that some of our fans are falling in this instead of standing by our own player.

Theres nothing more I hate than having our strikers dubbed failures or having critism in that respect I always go on the defensive when anyone (especially the blueshite) critises his season...but to be fair he's not giving the 85% nevermind the 100...people are saying he's not being givin the service but if you look at the goals he got in the past he doesn't need to rely on other people as more times than not he's made something outta nothing...on his day he could turn a deflected poulson spooned pass into a bital attacking option givin him the space to run forward, the whinging and arguing has got to a monumental phase and he goes down at every oppotunity leaving us to pick up the pieces an defend his actions, I'am sick of everyone praising him in everything he does, fair enuf 2008...belter season an he couldnt do no wrong, last seasons lack of form was down to injurys but this season if he carrys on playing the way he is with the dark nando cloud hanging over him an he gets injured...were fucked, he hasnt pulled his weight an while many will say that after 4-5 weeks of the prem being open that its too early to judge thats bullshit an from the 1st game he should be playing his bleached fringe off....while Ngog and Babel are available it leads me to believe that if we had started them instead of nando in each game he's played terrible would of the result been in our favour or at the very least give them both the game time they deserve??

The following is a recent interview with Rafa in which he talks about Torres. Its a translation done by someone on RAWK.

________________________________________________

Rafa Benítez for Don Balón (spanish football magazine). A transcription where he talk about Liverpool:

- When you talk about Liverpool, something shines on your eyes…

Always, I always will have Liverpool FC in my heart. Living history of world football and over everything, its supporters which are far over the owners who are at the head of a club with the prestige and category of this one. They have been six unforgettable years in which I have received a lot of affection. I can't ask for more than have a similar time in Inter de Milán. With that, I would be realized.

- Knowing red's economy… How more seasons do you see Torres as a red?

It's clear that this is a question for him and his family. As you can understand, I can't and mustn't talk about this. What I can say is I wish Fernando all the best, as footballer and as person, at all levels and plays wherever he plays. I want him to be as happy as he can, that arrives so high as he can and that scores many goals, like the one he did against Germany. I wish him all the best.

- What did you work with Torres to transform him from a striker with fame of "missing chances" to one with fame of "deadly"?

The best attribute of Fernando is his potential. If Fernando wasn't good, truly good, it would be really difficult haven't made anything important with him. He has his qualities and he arrived with those qualities to Liverpool. Then we only tried that he watched more for the goal and worked on that, himself the first. We worked on the accuracy and other little concepts, everything came from working. Everything else, I repeat, is his natural talent and don't forget it, about a team that supported him and supporters that made him fly.

He definitely needs to pull his finger out a bit, but it would help if he got anything remotely like decent service. At the moment he's seeing the ball about 5 times in a game and pretty much expected to take on the entire opposition defense on his own when he gets it. His miserable face and failure to close people down really doesn't help though. We may as well have fucking Cisse back if he's going to carry on like that for the rest of the season.

Any criticism, just or not, of players and/or manager is taking the focus off the one and only important issue these days. The life or death of Liverpool FC.

It’s time to stick together. Torres sulks, not important. Roy’s tactics stinks, not important. Hicks persistently trying to kill us, well that really matters. Until he’s forced out of this club, team performance, winning or loosing games, seem so dreadfully unimportant.

He needs to cut out the bitching and diving but his form so far isn't all down to him. The entire team has been shit, you can't expect Torres to do well when his team mates are letting him down.

Seems to me that it's a combination of his lack of form/confidence/blonde hair and the team not getting the ball forward quickly enough (unless you count lumping the ball forward from the centre of defence).

If you look at Torres at his best, we moved the ball from back to front quickly, generally finding Gerrard in space between the midfield and Torres and found his intelligent runs.

Like any striker, it only takes a second to get a goal and get some confidence back, and I am sure - like the majority I guess - I don't care if Torres is whingeing and his all-round play is not great if he is sticking away 30+ goals a season.

Fowler's view on Torres form - Liverpool FC

It is only a matter of time before Fernando Torres once again proves he is one of the world's top strikers, according to legendary Kop scorer Robbie Fowler.

El Nino is still searching for top form after a series of injury problems - but the man whose No.9 shirt Torres now wears saw signs of improvement against Manchester United.

"It takes time to get back up to the top level after a long period of injury, and he's had more than his fair share in recent times," said Fowler.

"Even just a fraction of a percentage makes a massive difference at his level, and in a couple of weeks he'll probably look a different man again.

"When he's at the top of his game then his touch and pace are a deadly combination, but it's probably not quite there yet as he's still coming back from a series of injuries that can affect that first explosive moment on the ball.

"You can never question his contribution to the team, because he is prepared to put in a shift up front on his own against some of the best - and toughest - defenders in the world, and believe me that's not easy.

"I watched with interest as Liverpool failed to find him in the first half at United, and the results were obvious. In the second though, their tactics changed, and suddenly he created two goals. That showed he is not as far away as people are making out.

"Give him the ball and he will get results, which was evident after the break at Old Trafford."

The fact is we need Torres to score, and be on top of his game, to be able to win games this season. The one game we have won in the league was down to a Torres goal.

So if he doesn't produce he gets the blame.

2010 has been a bit of an anus horrible for him so far, hasn't it? You could tell he wasn't satisfied with his own "contribution" towards Spain's world cup triumph, and the recurring injuries have been a nightmare leaving him look like a shell of the player who arrived at Anfield. Here's hoping things improve for him and us soon.

Vs. Manure

# of passes played by our midfield. 216. Sideways.

# of passes to Torres. 7. Lucasesque.

# of minutes per pass to Torres. 13. Isolated.

# of goals created. 2. Creator?!?!?

Scapegoat -> Torres. DIABOLICAL.

Say what you want but the midfield is bust:

When the top players are on song, the rest follow. Not usually the other way around!

He needs to man the fuck up, get his head up and start sorting his OWN game out.

The midfield may well be "bust" as you say, but you know what, there's no way on earth that excuses him treating his own fans like wankers and walking off the pitch on Sunday without so much as a glance at them, whilst the reat of his team mates made an effort to thank the supporters.

I don't think that's on your silly little diagram, but maybe it should be!

Granted, he isn't getting the service. I'm not disputing that, but I absolutely will dispute this horse shit about him being injured and unfit. He isn't injured. And he is fit. End of.

besides, none of the above things would be any excuse for a shitty attitude and generally just acting like a little bitch. Even a broken leg doesn't excuse you from giving a fuck!

Listen, I still love the guy, of course I do. He's the greatest striker on earth when he's on blob.

I also love my wife... but when she's on THE blob, she can be a total cunt!

Torres is on the blob.

Now then, I thought all world class players had to do was turn up and do their thang. You don't need to manage players like Gerrard and Torres, we were told - they are, after all, world class and don't need telling what to do. Is it time to revisit that opinion in the wake of the disappointing start to season 2010/2011?

You don't really. That's why I'm telling Fernando Torres to fucking sort HIMSELF out, not blaming the manager for managing it badly!

Derp.

besides, this issue reared it's ugly head last year as well. It's not a new thing with Torres. He needs to have a serious word with himself and sort his head out or just fuck off, frankly.

I don't think he looks fit and that is why he isn't working as hard as he usually does.

I don't think confidence is as much of a problem, as he isn't really missing chances - we just aren't creating enough (or any at times) for him to score any.

Think he really benefitted with having Ngog alongside on Sunday and would hope Roy gives him a partner for a few games to help him out a bit.

    • If i was them and got a offer of 100ml for Kane id snap City hand off. Kane ankles are fucked. They could nab Calvert Lewin and still have money for another midfielder
    • Yes, because no-one knows about Kane's qualities, and are aggressively monitoring him at the Euros to see what the fuss is all about.   There is no chance in hell his "best days are behind him"
    • The reason Spurs have not approached Rafa, I reckon, is because of his outspoken character, not afraid to voice his displeasure at the owners, whether about money or other political matters within the club.   Levy took a huge chance on hiring Mourinho with the prospect of him winning one of the cups to tide them over. But it became so toxic and unworkable that just days before they were about to play the final, he pulled the trigger, as it would likely have locked Mourinho in further, along with a potential trophy bonus, so it was probably the lesser of two evils as he saw it. Added to that was the failure to get a top 4 place, which would have been a higher priority than either of the domestic cups.   Now they have to walk a very tight line between somebody compliant and the ability to get them to the CL which they absolutely need given the massive debt they have to pay off for their stadium. Rafa would certainly be their best bet on the latter, but would the former be a price they're willing to pay?
    • Thats makes sense for Real Bring him back for free sell Isco/Assensio to free wages and fee and sell Rodriguez a year later
    • It wouldn't be a shock if he was allowed a free if ancelotti left.
