Which option is closest to your thinking on Roy?

  1. 1. Which option is closest to your thinking on Roy?

    • I like Roy and I would like to see him given time to succeed.
    • Not my first choice, but he's here and I'd like to see him given time before I make a judgement.
    • He may/may not have been the right choice, but from what I've seen I've got no faith in him.
    • I don't want him here, and I want him sacked before any more damage is done.

Never thought I'd see the day where Liverpool fans were calling for the manager to be sacked this early. I didn't want Hodgson in the first place but now he's here he deserves at least one season to see if he can make an impression.

Changing just for the sake of it is the best way to get us relegated.

People are flapping so early because this season is massive for us

For him to succeed at Liverpool in the current climate we will have to see a major change in attitude from Hodgson when it comes to his approach.

Dance with the one that brung you. He got to the top having his teams play football the way he sees it, now he's got a great chance to use his stuff with better players. He needs to convince the players he is right, adapt a bit to the players' strengths, and just get on with it. Major changes in the approach, I doubt it, and I doubt that they would work.

There isn't an option for me to vote for.

I didn't want him, I don't want him now either but to sack him now would cause more upheaval.

If we're below say 8th at Christmas I'd get rid, give Kenny the job and allow him the winter transfer window to try and sort it out.

That's pretty much how I feel. Although as opposed to been 8th (we could be 8th but only 4 or 5 points off 4th) I'd say if we were 15 points off a UEFA Spot at Christmas then we need to have a long hard look at things.

I'd love to say we have time with Hodgson but we simply don't. We need to hit the ground running. If we don't get CL football this season then Torres will leave (and I would say he should also as he'd deserve better at this stage of his career) as will possibly Reina, and we'll get some very average shite back in, so we need to be progressing otherwise we could be in for years of midplaced nothingness.

It's not pleasant to say as I'd never want to see us as a Chelsea or Man City changing managers every few months, but I was terrified when we got in Hodgson as his record is very average. Hopefully though we can get away from OT with a draw and then go on a bit of a run of wins. And there is a very real chance of that happening also if we can keep players fit and they start knuckling down.

All in all he deserves this season anyway, if not next season also.

I will support him all the way, but my instincts - and many of the decisions he's made so far - lead me to think that he is not the man for the job. His tactics and selections so far have been just as conservative as his predecessor, and his work in the transfer market has been quite poor. Just my opinion. Obviously I would love nothing more than to see us start playing decent, attacking football and turning things around. I think the last time I actually enjoyed watching us was towards the end of the season before last...

Yeah, because a combination of raffa/g&h has left us without a pot to piss in.

There's been a profit in the last three windows - not Rafa's fault. Gillett and Hicks are fucking us - Benitez was collateral damage, Hodgson will be too. It's pointless having discussions about the capability of the manager whilst those two are in charge. You can attempt to get rid of the headache but it's pretty pointless if there's tumours attached to your major organs.

I'm somewhere between the first and second options. He wasn't my first choice, but he's somebody I like and respect as a man and I'm willing to support him, seeing as he's our manager.

There hasn't half been some shit written on here these past few days though. Four fucking games the man has had and he's getting called all sorts. Admittedly we've only really put in a spirited second half showing against Arsenal, but to be getting snidey and personal on the fella is disgraceful. It's the sort of thing mongy fans of shit, small time clubs do.

Because of the ownership situation? Apart from that I don't see how it is any more or less 'massive' than any other season.

Even taking into account the massiveness of it all I still think calling for the manager to be replaced is absurd. If we're in the bottom 3 at Xmas the flappers may have a point.
