I went to an event at the old Moat House hotel, a few years ago, to celebrate the Rome 77 victory. Number of ex-reds in attendance.

Memory is obviously hazy, but I think it was Alec, got escorted out, due to being "tired and emotional". He received one of the greatest standing ovations I've ever seen, as he was leaving.

For that reason, I'm in.

A really good left back. Keegan in particular always claimed Lindsay could land the ball on a sixpence. One of the reasons Keegan was in such a strop during his final season was because he couldn't forgive Alec's successor Joey Jones for not being as accurate as he was passing the ball down the line. Keegan's expression whenever Joey Jones blasted the ball high over Kevin's head was a bit frightening!

I remember when I was 8, (I know old bastard) going to see the lads bring the FA cup home in '74, I was stanging on Queens drive and the team bus stopped about 10 yards from me and Alec Lindsay fell down the stairs, got off and ran to the house I was stood outside, banged on the door and asked to go for a piss, when he went in about another 6 players went in after him. If I owned the house I'd have put up a plaque!
