This place is a community, I felt guilty as fuck accepting that money but fuck me did we need it first time round and the second time round it bought the greatest gift money could buy...every last minute with my wife.

 

I'll never be able to repay that kindness, generosity or thoughtfulness. I'm just some loud mouthed cunt on an Internet forum.

 

I argued and probably swore at over 3/4 of the posters that donated money!!!

 

But I can pay £2 a month to ensure a place that I've posted on for 12 years and through boredom, interest, laziness, drunkenness and a piss poor work ethic at times means I'm almost constantly on here.

That was amazing & can see why you would feel so loyal & attached to the people here as a result.

Dave's match reports, PL round ups and his diary are always a great read. I'm sure it takes up a fair bit of Dave's time putting those articles together, and I don't doubt there's days after a shocking performance that he has to motivate himself to then set about writing about it, I didn't even want to think about football after the Sevilla debacle. I think supporting the site and what Dave contributes is easily worth £2 a month.

 

As for the MF, it's always busier when we are doing shit, as people like to vent and are less inclined to post when things are generally going well.

Supporting the site, because you enjoy it is the only real reason I can see.  I guess I just don't feel very loyal to the site anymore or am arsed what happens to it personally.  

 

The MF is basically dead.  Hardly anyone posts in it.  It certainly isn't what it was meant to be designed for looking at Daves original post in the forum.  Dave himself can't be arsed to post on it, he might maybe once a week.

You focus way too much on the MF. 

 

The £2 a month membership isn't for the MF, it's for the match reports, diary and round ups. If you don't think they're worth £2 a month that's fine, you're not alone in that!

 

Some people just pay the membership because they spend a lot of time on the forum, some do it for the reports while others do it just to help keep the site going because they don't want it going the same way as the fanzine. 

 

It's optional and if someone doesn't want to support the site (not referring to you specifically as you have been a member throughout your time here) they don't have to, they can still read the FF and GF and get the occasional free report.

 

I can't police every conversation that takes place on here and even if I could, I wouldn't. You're all adults, I trust you to police yourselves for the most part and when someone crosses the line I'll usually hear about it from a moderator or a concerned citizen, and then I'll step in, such as yesterday when I had to ban some right wing goon who wanted all muslims deported.

 

Ultimately though LFD, forum life just doesn't seem to be for you because you are easily upset and offended and take things to heart. It's happened so many times now I've lost count, and you always end up coming back, and each time you do I know it's only a matter of time before something upsets you, you'll get upset with me for allowing it to happen and not running this place the way you think I should and you'll want to leave.

 

It's a shame because generally you're a good poster, but you clearly have issues with how the site is run and you definitely have issues with a lot of the people who post here, so I think you'd be better off finding another forum to post on.

 

I'll delete your account as requested, and I genuinely hope you find a forum where you don't feel persecuted.

I rarely use the MF but am still happy to pay to support the site.

While alot of good posters have gone there are still plenty here. With lots of examples like the one Colin mentioned.

I use the MF if i need to talk about something personal that i dont want posted on a public part of the forum and im sure i can say on behalf of others that the people on the site have helped in some very shitty times in my life,the support while i was sick was amazing as was the MF as a place to vent about other personal things earlier this year.

I've met some great posters on this site and made some life long friends from just one meeting.

 

It's more than a site to post on it's a community. I don't use the FF because before the MF I was really only a GF poster. I enjoy the Match day discussions and the lack of Fridge Magnets on a Friday.

 

But most of all I pay to keep this site going. I pay because without this site the only other thing I'd use my phone for is porn and betting. This site gets me out of work, house work and helps with general boredom.

 

It's a shame you've been a fanny LFD as you where part of why this forum is so good.

One of my work colleagues has been on at me to join a group on Facebook, called ladzone banter or something as it's supposed to be really funny. It's fucking horrendous; low-brow, homophobic, sometimes racist drivel with the occasional interesting item posted but with loads of inane comments following. Part of the reason I find it so rubbish is because of the simultaneous quality and gibbering bollocks posted on here, which gives me an unrealistic expectations of other online interactions. This also applies to a whatsapp group I'm in talking about a stag do. Great guys who are a laugh when you are actually with them, but come up with unfunny and dated memes and crap shock value videos. None of this would last 5 minutes here. TLW is my online home, no question. It has been for 16+ years
