He goes to bed every night knowing Robbie was ten times the player & the man.

Thats enough for me.

The difference between the two of them could not have been greater considering they played in the same position for the same club at the same time,Fowler is,was and will always be a god to us fans cheered, mobbed everytime he is spotted around Anfield even after he had left(not that he wanted to leave)on the other hand Owen will mainly always be despised by our fans and pretty much every fan of every team he's played for for being a self absorbed uninterested little twat who everytime he returns to Anfield will probably need an armed escort,As you can probably tell (im 32)Fowler was my hero owen was good but not even on the same planet as Fowler when it came to football and a Liverpool legend.

On another note did the kids enjoy Wembley? i've got u11's team its hard work but wouldn't give it up for anything

I think he loves himself so much he believes he was a better player and a better man than Robbie. But I bet it pisses him off that nobody else does.

Went to see Owen sign for the Toon 5 years ago. £70 in train tickets and a 5am start. Day before I went on holiday too leaving me with eff all money to take! Saw him at Villa Park couple of years ago. I'd collected lots of autographs on an envelope. Owen began signing some. He looked at me, then the envelope, then me again, and walked off. Sorry guys, but that's disgusting. I know he had no way of knowing the effort I put in to support him. He may not have cared if he had known. But he lost my love that day. Screw him. Seriously though, cheap wages, under Woy, I'd have him back!!! If he scored, I'd muster a polite round of applause I think.

A sky cheerleader? I took an interest in The Toon and Owen.

Yeah the kids had a great day with loads of football. We got to Northwich Park training ground about 10:00 and played 4, 15 minute games. The kids improved endlesley as the day went on. We then left for Wembley at 14:00 and they got 1, 10 minute game there.

They lost the game at Wembley and bless em, even though it was only a friendly game, some of the kids were crying as if they had lost the FA Cup final. They got to walk up to the royal box to collect a medal after their game and the Community Sheild on show for them which was a nice touch.

It was great as this was the first year the team had existed and for many the first year they had ever played football and they have managed to acheive a dream that most never will and they are only 9/10.

Waddy - I don't usually coach them and only went down to help out and though exhausting, it was great fun and I really enjoyed it.

I used to Idolise MO when he first broke through and scored against wimbledon after coming on as a sub. Now after him saying "I wanna go to Madrid to win things" and leaving us for a fraction of his fee and signing for slur alex i cant stand him. I'd say i like dudek, houllier and even ian st.john more than that little b!"£$%d.

If I met him, I would thank him for his contribution, and remind him it's not his fault, the last coach turned down 3 opportunities to have him here.

Booted him out the door before playing a game. Refused to take him back the following year, then refused to take him for free from Newcastle when Michael needed a club, and we needed a forward. Because everything had to revolve around Torres.

Michael wanted to stay at Liverpool, and always wanted to return. The fact he didn't is not his doing. I don't like who he's now with, but I don't blame him for doing it.

I was watching the Treble vid the other night, and him and Robbie had a wonderful partnership and scored a truckload of goals that season. One man kicked both of them out of the club. He's now gone too.

Wow....it really is silly season isn't it,Owen wanted out 1st time,he only wanted to come back because we'd won the champions league the season before and he sat on the bench for most of that season,he then opted for newcastle 'cos they offered him more money, when he left newcastle he was,is finished he lost a few yards of pace(that was a big part of his game)he spent most of last season on the treatment table (again)Raffa didn't bring him back because he would have spent more time injured than Nando!,didn't scum try to send him to Bristol City on loan this season?

The contract was about to be signed when Rafa brought him all the way to Austria to sit on the bench in a CLQ. One minute of play (there were no bidders at the time), and he couldn't be sold, but no Rafa wouldn't do that. Real couldn't believe their luck, came in unchallenged and bought him, even though they didn't want him.

As a result, 12 months later, Owen reached his hand out to the club for weeks. Rafa didn't want to know claiming the transfer fee was too high, so Owen was given a choice. Either sit on the bench or go to Newcastle. What footballer would rather sit on the bench?

12 months ago, he was available for free, nada, nothing. We needed a forward, there was one that wouldn't cost the club a penny in transfer fees. Rafa told us he was happy with who he had. We soon saw the result of that synopsis, and have lived with it for the past 12 months. Owen had to find a different club, and promptly did.

It's funny that while RB claimed the transfer fee was too high in 2005, apparantly that's the fee region we're looking to buy players now. Yes the fee was pricey, but we spent 10 million on a beanpole instead that summer, who couldn't score for 6 months, and was kicked out 3 years later. That was the alternative.

3 chances, none taken. In football, whether on or off the pitch, if you don't take your chances, you live with the consequences.

You talk utter shit, and their isn't one utterance of truth in that statement.

Ask him why he's such a treacherous money grabbing little shit and why he's treated every club he's been at like an England training camp. Ask him how it feels to have stabbed the club who gave him the status he's miraculously maintained post 04 in the back. Actually just ask him to fuck off.

Rewriting history a little aren't you? We offered Real something like £11m, then Newcastle's Freddy Shepherd comes blundering in with a £16m offer, as well as higher wages, which Real asked us if we're prepared to match. We quite rightly said no. I'm sure Real couldn't believe their luck, especially since they still owed Newcastle money on the Woodgate deal.

The "beanpole" was signed for £7m, not £10m, couldn't score for 3 months, not 6, and wasn't kicked out. Rafa's system, with Torres up top supported by 3 attackers, had no room for Crouch as a definite starter. He was not actively being forced out, but his hand WAS forced by needing regular first-team football to retain his England place.

Owen's actions were entirely based on maintaining his England place. Coming back to Liverpool would have been a means to further that end, rather than a love for the club itself.

At the time, yes we could not push for players at the top end of the market, but we were NOT short of funds the way we have been over the past 2 years, where it has patently been a sell-to-buy policy, resulting in the revolving door situation.

A "money grabbing" footballer, that's obviously a new thing. :whatever:

Newcastle offered a higher amount, yet we were the favourites to re-sign him. He would have jumped back to us if allowed, despite the lower fee offered. In the end, the coach walked away, Real left him in limbo, and he then had to take the Newcastle offer. You can't blame him for that. No forward is going to willingly sit on a bench, no matter who he is, even more so in a WC year.

He signed in June, and first scored in December. The 10 million figure is the Euro figure, as I always quote transfer valuations in Euro, which would have been the approximate value at the time.

We were short of funds last year, but despite that, there was a quality forward hanging around for free. You can complain about his motivation, and his finances, but you can't doubt his strike rate. He was and is, a quality forward, even today. Instead, we coped with David Ngog as cover. I'm afraid there is a vast vast gulf in class on the pitch, between the two.

No theres not a vast difference, he spent most of last season carrying horsefeed round his yard.

He had the chance to reject Newcastle and come to us, he refused, he wanted to go the toon as he got to keep his england place and a helicopter, token messiah treatment and Rafa just told him to 'taker his shoes off' before he went into Rafa's house. At the end of the day he's shite and anyone spending £18m on this waste of space deserves a slap.

The very fact you wish we had spent £18 on Owen that summer shows we cannot get very far with this.
