Kenny Huang linked to Liverpool takeover

The more I read about Huangs bid now this Kenyon thing, the more I believe that this is far more down the line in terms of they havent just appeared a couple of weeks ago and discussions have only taken place over their offer.

There just seems to be far much involved and people involved in this offer

1. The kenyon development

2. Huang decision to meet with SOS.

3 CIC involved- with barcap have said to have backed the bid now as it has proven where the money has come from.

If so and discussions have been going on for months, it would make sense as to why Huang supposedly wants an answer. But as i said a few posts ago, if Huang is genuine, backed financially and deep in discussions, there is no way Broughton is gonna let him walk no matter how much a fuss the 2 pricks kick up about, if he has the power to accept a bid without their backing he will do so, if not for that fact that can you really see Broughton wanting to go back to square one and have to stay at this club any longer? I cant. Even if i was trying to find, say for example Arsenal a buyer, I would make sure I did my job properly and found the right buyer for the club but i would want to leave that club in order to follow my real team Liverpool. If two owners were stopping me from selling a club to right and proper people because they felt like it, i would tell them were to go if i had those powers to do so.

I still trust Broughton and unless he does something to question that am gonna stick with his judgement. I also think the board sent a message out to the yanks on sunday when they all sat next to each other, defo think that was a sign of unity between them in my opinion.

And now Peter fucking Kenyon apparently appointed by a so-called bidder for the club.

What the fuck is happening to the club I adored and loved?

Every fucking time I think it can't get any worse, it fucking does.

I'd happily entertain the prospect of this Turkmenistanian bid fronted by Yared Tesfaye.

Turkmenistan has the world's fourth-largest reserves of natural gas and substantial oil resources.

My name is Yared Tesfaye; I was born in Harar, Ethiopia on April 9, 1987. I lived there and spoke Amharic until the end of kindergarten. During the following two years I moved to and resided in an Oromo town called Kuni, where I forgot most of my native language. Then I went to South Africa and stayed there for a period of four years, during which I attended a Catholic elementary school and developed a sense for God. Since there were very few Ethiopians in my neighborhood as I assimilated into the English society, I became even less fluent in Amharic. My mother and I came to the United States on new years' eve in 1999--I was very upset that we stayed in Ethiopia on our way here and missed Christmas, but there was no way I was going to miss the millennium celebration! By the grace of God, I accepted Christ as my savior in 2000, when I was thirteen years old--talk about a crucial age! Now I'm an honor roll student at Wheaton High School; a C-Choir member (Ethiopian Evangelical Church youth choir); a soldier in the Joel Generation Army, our church's youth group, where I work with the worship and webmasters teams. Oh yeah, my Amharic is improving dramatically. May all the Honor and Glory be to God

Sat together tonight too.

Yared Tesfaye seems like a joker after one google search

They did as well mate, first time I have seen Ayre at the game consequatively. Broughton also works on thursdays. Maybe another discussion??

BTW has anyone also got onto the specialised lfc suits with the crests on that the manager, players and board are wearing nowadays. Smooth touch!

Sounds to me like Chelsea fan Broughton is doing what lifelong reds Parry and Moores didn't do, and actually checking the possible buyer is more than just mouth before he offloads the silver. If, and that's an if - this is what's going on, he deserves to be applauded. I've had enough of these spit the dummy out cunts who flash a year-old bank statement around and then stamp their feet to get their own way. Fuck Huang, fuck Kirdi and fuck the yanks.

With you mate. The club is the organization equivalent to Pete Docherty. Plenty of talent and potential but fucking wasted on it which is only going to end in tears.

I fuckin despair.

ayre's been at a few matches.

I'm loving the suits too (broughton never wore one) I like that all players even not in the squad have to wear the suits even in the stands.

Is this a Roy request? I presume it is.

Peter Kenyon called in as unlikely dealmaker for Liverpool takeover | Football | The Guardian

Peter Kenyon has been engaged by Kenny Huang to lead negotiations for the Chinese consortium in its bid to take over Liverpool. The news emerged as Marc Ganis, the Chicago-based sports executive, was stood down by the Chinese consortium.

Digger understands Ganis has not been involved with Huang since Tuesday this week after what appears to have been a clash of cultures.

Bloomberg reported Kenyon has been involved in talks for several months. He is acting as a consultant on behalf of Huang, having won the mandate through his employer, Creative Artists Agency, whom he joined upon leaving his post as Chelsea's chief executive. Kenyon, who is also a former chief executive of Manchester United, will not take up any boardroom position at Liverpool in the event of success in Huang's bid.

Meanwhile Ganis, who had assisted Huang's QSL sports group in previous negotiations with US sports franchises and sponsors, has lost his own mandate. It was Ganis who detailed in an interview with the US wire agency the Associated Press on 6 August the merits of Huang's bid.

That interview also carried a warning that rather complicated the negotiations with Liverpool's board, which still includes as directors the American co-owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett. Ganis said: "What is not one of our goals is the enrichment of the existing owners."

Ganis was not available to respond to Digger's request last night to explain his departure from the Huang consortium.

It is impossible to know for sure why he is no longer part of the bid. But at a time when Hicks and Gillett's principal motivation is to recover some cash value for their equity, the best bet is he has paid for those comments.

Bleating a bit rich

Press briefings from China that Huang is growing frustrated with the sale process at Liverpool are a little rich. It is not the fault of the club's vendors that as recently as this week his consortium had still not provided incontrovertible evidence that he had the money to turn his proposal into a purchase. There are signs that at last it has now been provided, and if so it is quite likely that his is the only credible bid on the table.

Huang is certainly convinced his package is the best for the club (though quite how he would know what others are offering is another matter entirely). But even so, Liverpool fans must not expect the Chinese consortium to gain control imminently: Barclays Capital and the club's chairman, Martin Broughton – who together are leading the process – have a fiduciary duty to explore the merits of other bids first.

Given that his involvement is with the bid and and not with any potential Liverpool FC board, I welcome his involvement.

Given that he was hardly that good at transactions involving players; I have zero confidence in any transaction he's heading that involves a whole club.

Oh and, between him and the rest of the hangers on getting a piece of Huang pie out of this; I absolutely hope this falls flat on its arse.

From one bunch of parasites to another.

He's thoroughly qualified to negotiate the value of a football club.

That you don't trust him is very understandable, given his background.

But his involvement, though the news broke tonight, started some time ago. And that doesn't discourage me.

Heres a question, with Kenyon involved, does this encouage people that a deal will be done?

Personally I think now the times article that they are about to pull out like now has been bit far fetched, frustrated? probably, but prepared to get a strop on immedietely? maybe not.

His involvement alone is fucking scandalous.

He's an absolute cunt who should be despised and railed against for the absolute fucking piece of vermin he is.

If you're comfortable with him having any sort of involvement with any aspect of our club - be it through this sale or in the fucking club store - (not to mention probably making a mint out of us) then it's up to you.

I'm fucking sickened by it.

UEFA's 'financial fair play' ruling thows a massive and permanent spanner in the works. The relative financial positions of clubs is about to be set in stone. Even though very few have been talking about this ruling in relation to the takeover, it's clearly central to Huang's bid, given the press briefings.

Given the impending rule-change, any source that pumped funds in before the 'break-even' rule comes in would be hugely advantageous to is.

Quite honestly, the fact that this whole discussion isn't taking place in the context of this rule-change really surprises me.
