Yeh, hes the first player we want to be going into bone crunching challenges, you know since he never gets injured and all that malarkey?

TBH I wasn't really advocating the idea. My intentions were to see if anyone else thought a non injury prone Aurelio could play in deeper midfeild role.

funnily enough talking about him replacing Mascherano, i wanted him to get a few games in the "Alonso role" last season, despite the Fiorentina game I still think he could've done a good job of it, i think in midfield he would be a better technically version of Barry who Rafa wanted in for Xabi

i think if he could stay fit (unlikely i know) he'd be first choice, best all round left back in the league after Cole imo

big fan of him and a pay as you play would be great

didn't realise joe Cole was a left back??

Fantastic news if it's going to happen. When he's fit, he always influences a game. I'd like to see him more in the midfield if pos, but happy to have him at LB. Awesome goals he scored from free kicks last season and the season b4 at Old Trafford.

Under-rated and still has a massive contribution to make if stays relatively fit and gets picked.

Very good news, and I'm feeling now like we might have a competitive team with a little luck.

I remember pissing my pants laughing at Everton for re-signing that parrot faced twat Stubbs just 5 short years ago. Funny how things come full circle sometimes.

i think it was Pistone, he left then they resigned him because they couldnt get anyone else

Any news? I don't particularly rate the guy, even if he was fully fit, but if he's on a pay as you play contract then I don't see much harm.

Incidentally, Steve Finnan is also a free agent if we wanted some experienced cover at right back.

This makes more sense than Luke fuckin Young. I'd take Steve Finnan back even if he is past it. Good pro.
