They’re on at Kendall in a few weeks. Can’t wait for them and some Mitsubishis.

There we go. The Streets are boss

Best gig I've ever been to was Kasabian in Ibiza in 2006.

And there we go. You’ve got it. Val Doonican cunts like An Tha and Geoff Hurst will never understand.

They sounded terrible though I thought. Lacked energy as well, I think they were struggling with the sound system in fairness.

They have never been the most polished live band and i have been to see them a few times.

Mate of mine saw them last week and said the sound was a bit ropey at times was their 6th show in a week this - so well practiced so to speak!

Fucking coldplay....

Fuck that.

Comedy bad. You know what they remind me of, you know those cheesy American teen programmes where they form a band and mime some utter shite at the end and all the extras dance silly dances waving their arms with big smiles, they remind me of that. Coldplay should substitute pointless as a word in the English lexicon I think. Try it, it works

Can’t believe Nick Cave and Chris Martin are big mates. I don’t mean that in a sniffy, gobshitey way only to make the point that I’m astonished that they would have anything in common musically. Apparently Cave uses his studio and Martin critiques his work in real time. Mind well and truly blown. Does not compute…..

They started off ok - a bit bland and a bit MOR but some of their early work was alright....Politik for example is IMO a superb song.

But somewhere along the way as they got 'bigger' they just became insufferable and started making the what to me is just the worst kind of for the masses pop-rock, sort of stuff that you would get if you pumped into AI 'generic singalong pop music'

It sells by the bucket load of course and it fills stadiums all over the world - but for me it is just lacking in any sort of artistic substance - chewing gum for the ears.

Might be an age thing - but i have literally never heard of any of them before - not just "can't name a song" but never heard or seen their names before.

Which of course does not mean they are necessarily bad, but i'd guess would be unlikely to be my cup of tea after looking them up on wikipedia just.

And that's all fair enough mate! I'm nowhere near as clued up on new music as I used to be and I have never stood out from a crowd more than when I went to see Janelle Monae a few years ago. I was about the only greying white man in the room and the only other person I knew there was a twenty-something colleague (insert Russell Crown) who was astonished to see me. But then she couldn't possibly know I'd have Oxton's finest @Paul schooling me on a football forum on the finest beats.

Still, I went, and she's in the conversation for the best live act I've ever seen. Definitely not my regular 'cup of tea'. Give her set a watch.

Forum royalty @Stu Monty got me into Little Simz, has never been my thing before and that’s the beauty of this place, I’d never have entertained it before and now I’m her biggest fan, I spoke to Stu before and he’s there on the hill watching her.

The forum needs more StuMonty in my opinion.
