The best man for the job by some distance when factoring in availability, winning mentaliy, tactics, footballing style and experience. I believe he also has a respectable record against English teams including 4 draws against the mancs and the double over everton in a champions league qualifier in 2005/6.

Plenty of Chileans and Uruguayans have Italian connections too, look at Pellegrini's last name, that Uruguayan who played against us tonight Cavani sounds like another one.

Yeah wiki says he has Italian origins. Forgot to mention in the Napoli match thread that it was weird seeing him playing in sky blue and not wanting him to score! Was loving Uruguay in the WC.

Dont think this move would stop him coming to Anfield in the Summer but obviously rules out Hodgson leavng anytime soon,

If he gets his teeth into the Malaga job he'll be there a few years. Likes a project does Pellegrini. He'll have every confidence of getting Champions League football for Malaga within a couple of years.

Maybe we could do a swap at the end of the season? I mean Roy would love it there, afternoon naps, nice beaches, sitting there watching the donkeys all afternoon. Would bring all those memories flooding back.

Whats with the Pellegrini obsession?

A brilliant, available manager, who would make any team play good football.

Just feels like we've missed the boat a bit.

Is he really that brilliant? I aint so sure

Well its all relative.

I think he's a very good manager but more than that I just thought our situation would suit his style of work.
