I'll admit that the French league isn't exactly the elite league in europe but cisse looks to have the qualities to be a tremendous player for us when he does arrive. The owen-cisse partnership will surely reap us rewards. Let's just give him sufficient time to settle in n not xpect him 2 start firing at all cylinders immediately. He does seem to have that mean streak and fire within him unlike a certain mr Heskey :D

It says on the offal that he turned Real Madrid down for us. I love his attitude. Just hope Owen does the same :ermm:

The difference between Cisse and our crap signings from France is pace. Hopefully that will give him what it takes to make it in the Premiership. It's the best reason to be hopeful we have.

Cisse dreaming of Owen partnership

Djibril Ciise last night admitted he can't wait to line up alongside

Michael Owen at Anfield.

Cisse is expected to complete his move from Auxerre to Merseyside in the

summer and he says he is looking forward to developing a partnership with

England's number one striker.

"Liverpool is a good club for a start, a first springboard for me," said

Cisse.

"Michael is the best English striker and to play with him will be very

flattering.

"We are complementary. He likes to play to feet and I like the spaces. The

English style of play suits me as it is so quick

The genesis of a story:

The official site are just picking up on the reports that were on various sites this morning. They often do it - it's a quick and easy story particularly when quotes are attached to a story by Sky etc

If you look on Newsnow the story first appears as two different stories in the early hours of this morning on Koptalk (but the quotes are not attributed to any source):

Cisse urges Owen to stay to form lethal partnership KopTalk.com 01:38

French ace rejects Real Madrid to sign for Liverpool KopTalk.com 02:32

It then appears on planet football and Sky:

Cisse eager for Owen to stay planetfootball via Sky Sports 07:31

Cisse hopes Owen stays Sky Sports 07:46

before reaching the official site when they get into work, do a quick trawl and throw up their version:

Cisse Dreaming Of Owen Partnership Liverpool FC - The Official Site 08:48

Not once in all that is the source publication of the comments named. What websites tend to do is copy other sites and just rejig the wording around the quotes. It's the mainstay of internet journalism.

What is not revealed on NewsNow (as it doesn't include stories from The S*n at the request of a number of Reds) is the story first appears in this form on The S*n website at midnight - you can check this via Google News.

This is where the story and the quotes originates.

He's a good player with a fair amount of attitude and arrogance but he's not like Henry or Trezegeut on the ball in tight areas. Hopefully Owen will stay as the two do look as if they'd compliment each other well.

someone just said

I believe that Cissé is stronger than Owen and if they aren't able to play together, owen will only be a great substitute!!!

Here's hoping
