Dutch world cup left in tatters

Recommended Posts

Ryan Babel is today set for scans on a training injury which could threaten his World Cup dream, according to reports.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital in Austria last night after damaging his hamstring at Holland's pre-World Cup training camp.

If the problem proves serious, it could be the second time Babel has missed out on a major tournament due to injury.

In 2008 he broke his ankle just weeks before the European Championships in Austria and Switzerland.

Last night Babel told fans of his Twitter page: "Disappointing day of course. But hey, don't worry. I have confidence that it will be ok."

Holland's opening Group E game is against Denmark in Johannesburg on June 14

It'll be a repetitive strain injury. Always running away from the ball, up and down the line, then sideways into an oppositions player and majestically avoiding those tackles. Poor kid.

Damn! I hoped that having a good wolrd cup would raise his value to around £27.50 because he always tries when playing for Holland.

At least there's no way his value can go down based on shyte performances.

As soon as I read the headline "Babel in world cup scare" I just assumed he'd lost his headphones.

More like he forgot his phone charger so he could'nt keep his twitter up to date.

What the fuck. Are you doing this on purpose? I almost feel like calling the lynch mob. "Shyte"? Bolshie Bastard, is that you?

*facepalm*

You big fat meff. :(

And Babel tried towards the end of our fucked up season. He's not 'evil', or 'lazy'. I can't wait to get back out to pub and get shot of the shit we're waffling about at the moment. Roll on the new season, even with Rafa it can't be much worse than what we're talking about at the moment.

Eh?

Shyte is Bolshie Bastards calling card. Hammie sussed it. No one else says shite as syhte. He knows this, probably done it deliberately?

Huh?

And?

Ah nothing. Just a wind up merchant using several different accounts for a laugh, nothing a mod would care about! Yer big fruitcake.

Actually I don't really care, just pointing it out but probably more than usual as I'm drunk. Off back out shortly though so luckily I won't be here for long.

COME ON SAMUEL.

*sniffs air*

Carry on like this and I sense another Phoenix banning.

Erm, what? You're totally going over the top. What the fuck have I just said in the last few posts to warrant a ban? I was trying to point out that that might be Bolshie, and I thought he wasd a tit and a wind up guy? Nice wind up attempt, and if not, almosty everyone else here will see that you're just being a twat. Erm, have a good night? Buzzkill must be your middle name.

Later.

    • But @Denny Crane the governing model of Liverpool hasn't changed since the club's founding has it?  The club has always been owned by a variety of rich people and governed by a board made up of these rich people.  In the past there have been different majority shareholders, right now it's FSG.   I think there would have been an outside chance of majority fan ownership at the price that Moores sold at - plus he might have been persuaded into it rather than looking to maximise his cash out - but it would have needed to be managed by the club itself and not competing supporters groups.  Unfortunately at the time the club board and Parry had no vision whatsoever, and couldn't even keep the season ticket waiting list on a computer.  Never mind being able to organise a membership scheme.    The only way we're getting a different ownership model now is if the club goes bust or you have a time machine.
    • Nice to see Timmy Cahill in the back there
    • I thought a new corporate structure was required but here he walks through the steps.
    • Usual Twatter rumours that Jota is injured as wasn’t pictured in training and could be out for Utd game too....Sad thing is they’re usually true
    • Lee, Labour have had a bit on football ownership in their election manifestos for around a decade. The focus has been on good governance and supporters trusts to get stakes in football clubs. The sound argument put forward has long been that football is incapable of regulating itself. It needs people whose sole aim isn't growth to have an influence or veto. This is why we are where we are today. A sport with Oligarchs, Hedge Fund owners and Sheikhs dictating the terms of how football evolves.
