If it just to give then playing time then fine, but other than that I am not sure what it proves.

Look at Spearing, good player in a second division side, Eccleston, not exactly ripping up trees in the third division and the same for Darby at Swindon. Just proves that they have found their level.

It doesn't.

I had the pleasure of attending the odd Bradford City game in the 80's when Steve Staunton was on loan for them. He was awful even at that level. You wouldn't have thought he could make a career out of football, never mind at a club like Liverpool.

I wasn't actually being serious!

I just noted the usual suspects got thrown in as being shite, and the usual suspects got a free pass!

Spearing has done nothing to suggest he will make it, neither has Darby, but whilst we are very quick to throw Insua, N'Gog and Plessis into arguments about shite players, they are ignored.

Staunton was one of my favourite players, and just as much a scapegoat at the time as others are now.

Did you? I thought you were the one who brought all these players into the thread...

bar Tom R's comment, but a negative Tom R post is like white noise.

Insua and N'Gog have had loads of games this season though. Spearing and Derby haven't.

They may well not be good enough, but then I guess that's why they're not in the team.

And Plessis is just a total fucking cunt, so I'll give him as much shit as I possibly can and he'll deserve it and then some.
