nail hit firmly on the head there

Rafas time was up, it was safe to say his course had run

sacking Rafa was not the mistake,

the mistake, imo, was employing hodgson,

and no, not because we lost the other night,

because he's an unproved manager, and he's too bloody old.

if you've been a journeyman manager thats mainly fought relegation and managed midtable teams with no relative ambitions, then you simply have no idea/experience of what it takes to manage a club at the higher echelon

Two word answer:

Inter. Milan.

You'd be happy with Steve McLaren, then? Martin O'Neill? Hell, how about Sven?

Sven is an excellent manager whose teams always play attractive football barring England who are just shite no matter who is in charge. His Lazio team were quality and City fans can only dream of what he would be doing for them now!

"Oi Taksin, leave our Sven alone" - one of the best chants ever.

McClaren has proven himself a much better manager than people thought as he has had time and backing, Germany is a natural progression and I think he will continue to hone his skills and one day come back to the prem and be an excellent manager here for a bigger club than Boro.

Martin O'Neill..... erm he shouts a lot.

I'll counter that with

Blackburn Rovers

Is the Finland international manager not a reasonably decent standard?

I know they have only got a couple of decent players but any national European nation is a decent sized job.

I just hate Hodgson being slagged off before he's had a real run of games to prove himself.

I am prepared to give him time before I criticise him or his appointment.

This transfer window thing has fucked Roy up big time this season though.

Their credentials aren't the issue. Would you be happy if any of them were unveiled as the new LFC manager?

I'd happily have taken Sven here. Not assed one bit about his secret meetings, we could fucking do with some of them right about now!

How in fucks name is O'Neil a better manager than Roy? Please tell me.

Has taken Villa to a League cup final and FA Cup semi-final. Kept them challenging for the top four for the last few years. Made some very good signings like Young, Dunne and Milner. Has also reached a UEFA Cup final with Celtic which is Roy's biggest boast.

Watch Villa fall away now O'Neill has gone, he's kept them punching above their weight.

Your problem, you're looking at Roy with red tinted glasses, you are seeing in him every trait you hated in Rafa and wanted to see in a new manager. Unfortunately, most of those don't exist. He's not very good in the transfer market, His teams play negative, defensive football, he's out of his depth at this level.

Arguments like 4 games are what you'd also be saying if Fat Sam was our manager, or Paul Jewell or Tony Pulis. You'd make all the same arguments for them. Unfortunately, to defend Roy you've only ever attacked Rafa and used a UEFA Cup run with Fulham, what other achievements and credentials does Roy have that you can defend him with?

The 30-40 million pounds a year spent on said players, was what kept them punching above their weight! That and the sycophantic media.

The fact that the ATM ran out, would have seen them plumeting to O'Neils natural mid table level.

You really haven't got a clue have you? He's tried to take his shite SPL style to the prem and failed miserably. He got more money than Roy could ever have dreamed of at Fulham and his players have gone backwards every season he was there.

He got to the final of the Uefa Cup with Celtic, Celtic are a MUCH bigger team than Fulham.

Did Roy ever have the chance to sign Young or Milner? Did he shite.

Look at his squad and what he spent. You are just moving th egoal posts as per usual.

"Taken Villa to a League Cup" fucking priceless.

You've got the nerve to criticise Roy's style but Hoofy McBlagLion is suddenly a great manager?

Once again, get to fuck.

O'Neill is a better manager. Ask around and see how many agree with that comment. You've got the nerve to Criticise Rafa's style, but Roy is suddenly a great manager?

Do me a favour, look up how much he's had to spend in the market then tell me he's not good in the market leading Fulham notonly to safety to a UEFA cup final.

Young is a better player than Dempsey we all know this, yet ask Villa fans and Fulham fans who gives more, has the better season and is more valued and the answer will surprise you.

You haven't got a clue lad. When Roy has money and wastes it on over priced shite like Babel (who to be fair could get better under Roy), Kuyt (who is the least dutch forward you will EVER see), Lucas (the least Brazilian midfielder the world has ever known), Dossena (the least Italian fullback during his time here). Rafa wasted countless money and constantly cut his nose off to spite his face.

He used Keane as a pawn, a very expensive pawn. He overspent on Johnson at a time a player like Jesus Gamez would have been the much smarter option. I don't mind Johnson but come on did we really have the luxury to spend on him and Aquilani? Fuck no.

Roy has done MORE with Less than Rafa and O'Neil. Whether he can step up remains to be seen but you don't look at Primark and think they should have better quality gear than Giorgio Armani, so why is it okay to look at Fulham and compare them over the years Rafa was at Liverpool?

The answer is, it isn't and you're fucking clueless.
