see that's what I dread.

getting rid of rafa, absolutely no idea who they'd bring into replace him.

it will be the wrong guy.

oh, and no to stevie, need a high level manager next, not someone without any experience of top flight footie management.

for that reason, i'm out.

I wouldn't be so quick to talk down Stevie. He is doing a stunning job in the US. I'm not saying we shoudl give him teh job, but he is not by any means someone to just be disregarded.

Knows the club, knows Kenny, knows the fans and the ethos of the club.

I don't know his managerial achievements in more depth than wikipedia can provide but he's not a cunt and would probably be the nearest thing we can have to a feasible bootroom appointment. Unless Sammy Lee would be in the frame.

Wasn't he manager of the year there for a few years running recently by taking an unfancied club to the MLS finals or something like that? They think of him very highly I believe.

I'm not majorly up on him, and maybe some American reds could give a better reference, but, given where we will be shopping for managers (in that I assume it's the same stall where we get to shop for players) he could be the best option we can afford. Who knows?

He's definitely in the upper echelon out here. They consider him a footballing genius which is quite ironic when you consider how Kenny talks about him.

The gulf between the MLS and the premier league though is massive.

And that is of course the biggest barrier to him. I'd love to see him come across here and try his luck with a lower Premier League team*, or top end Championship set up.

* I've set up the gag there if anyone wants it.....
