One of my greatest regets in life this.

 

Was in Barcelona on a school trip when that match was being played, a few of us were going to sneak away from an excursion that evening to watch that match as there were seats left and at the time, with the exchange rate, the cheapest ticket was about £12.

 

But what did we do? wimp out once the Head of Year caught wind of the plan.

Now I'm not much of an England fan, but I was 15 when this happened and I was forever trying to recreate it on empty goals on the Pavillion footy pitches by ours after. Great goal.

Bergkamp's is a personal favourite.

 

But what about Torres' goal in the European Championship final against Germany. It just encapsulates everything the lad can do.

 

First he shows off his incredible awareness and pace to latch onto a pass. He then uses his body strength to shrug off Phillip Lahm, before he displays extreme cool and intelligence and great technique to dink it past the onrushing keeper and into the far corner.

 

I'd go as far as saying that it's practically a perfect goal.

 

I'm quoting myself here but only because I speak so much sense.

 

But I don't think any other forward in the world could have scored that goal.
