When are players gonna start wearing proper boots again instead of these ridiculous fucking slippers they all wear these days?

I'm convinced that's the main reason every fucker and his dog seem to get this injury these days.

Nail on the head, those plastic fucking boots they wear these days offer no protection whatsoever.

Bad to lose him though, he was starting to play well and had a great game against Adebayor last week.

fucking price of footy boots today is OBSCENE as well, considering they're rarely even made from leather.

I saw some plastic pieces of shit in a shop last week that were over 200 fuckin quid!!

Seriously, two hundred english pounds!

For shit, cheap, plastic slippers!!

It even bragged about the fact they were made of shit, cheap and nasty materials! It said "synthetic lace cover, providing larger ball strike zone"!!

What, so you mean loads of plastic?

YES!

I buy Puma Kings, the black one's. Got a new pair last year after having the previous one's for about 5 years.

If there were no Puma Kings i'd buy the Adidas World Cup boots, most the rest are crap, especially Nike boots.

In fairness Tom the ones they sell in the shops for £200 aren't the same ones the players wear. Just like the replica tops for £40 aren't the same as the ones the players wear.

Maybe not the top, top players, but for 95-6% of professional footballers they are, they just don't pay for them, or not as much as we do anyway.

I know of a player who's currently in the squad whose agent was that crap he had to go and buy his own boots from JJB.

The goalie gloves are more often not made to measure though.

Å krtel má zlomenú záprstnú kostiÄku: Chodí o barlách! - CAS.sk - Å port

Some interesting quotes ou there. Martin says that he has now his crutches and gypsum.. And asked what is he doing : " I walk with the cruthes, when I sit I put me foot up and think, what I could have done to avoid this injury.:

And conclusion : " Maybe if I wouldn´t listen to Benitez it wouldnt happen. He advised us not to do sliding tackles, to avoid bookings. I listened to him but maybe I should´ve done it my way."

It is strange that Rafa tells defenders not to do things which are basic part of defending.

  • 8 months later...

I've been impressed with him mostly this season, but he really really needs to knock the in-box wrestling on the head now.

Game after game he's guilty of dragging an opponent pretty much to the deck when defending a set piece and it's only a matter of time before the referees wise up and punish him. He doesn't even try to hide it. I'm all for jostling for position and I know that there is a necessary physical battle in the box but he's taking it to another level. Someone at the club needs to have a fuckin word with him because yet again today he should have conceded a penalty.
