I seriously hope Labour dont do what they've done in Wavertree and force someone on us.

Why wouldn't they? They know you'll go out and blindly vote Labour no matter who is standing, so they'll dole out the seat as a reward for one of their apparatchiks. Hence why Liverpool has had a neverending stream of shit MPs.

There is nothing wrong with loyalty to a political party.

It borders on blind loyalty in a lot of areas though. If you mention to anyone your thinking about voting anything other than labour in Walton people look at you like a dog thats just been shown a card trick

There is mate, they aren't a football team. Either they offer policies you agree with or they don't. If they don't then vote for the person standing in your area that does (or that is closest to them). Take the hypothetical of an independent standing in your ward with identical views to you; would you vote for him or not bother as it's a wasted vote.

If it's the latter then there is no hope for any of us is there?

Strangely enough The Telegraph may well have found some of Ricky's formative political affiliations more to its taste. Tomlinson was involved with the NF in his early days. He doesn't speak about his days on the far right of political opinion, only stating that he he was young and believed immigration was the root of all the country's problems. I accept that any man can admit his mistakes and change his ways, but that's some pretty extreme conversion that the Hobo has undergone. Makes me wonder how much it has to do with him lubricating his passage through the liberal business known as show.

At least he only disagrees with Ms Berger's candidacy now because she is from London, a few years back it would have been because she was a Jew. If the SLP are serious people then they will fuck Tomlinson off. Although I am more inclined to that 'traditional' form of socialism, I couldn't vote for Ricky Tomlinson. Although his history would play against him, I wouldn't vote for him because he's fucking thick.

I can tell you first hand that it is absolutely genuine.

How come? I have no opinion on him either way, although I once took a piss next to him in the Neptune Theatre, and he urinated with aplomb.

Nothing to do with his politics really (apart from the NF stuff in his early days obviously) because I've actually got a bit of respect for him in that regard, just I can't stand him getting interviewed on the telly. He's the epitomy of the professional Scouser. I don't think he's ever out the Echo either, plugging *insert name of shite Scouse celeb* Day with a stupid grin on his face.

Tomlinson bought a jigsaw from my shop a few years ago and asked for ' the cheapest one you've got because it's only going to my caravan' then bought a £10 piece of shite jigsaw. He then went to the furniture shop next door and started moaning at his wife because she was looking at the expensive sofas.

He also appeared to be about 5 foot 2.

Not that this adds anything to the debate, just thought I would share.

No surprise there to be honest. I really like him as an actor. My cousin cleans his windows. Got no time for him as a politician to be honest. He cant look after himself, never mind Walton! Over wieght, unfit, scraggy head, right wing hobo
