Looks as if he is going to Arsenal - Rafa confirmed today that we've missed out on him even though he was our "top summer target"(Echo). It seems the sticking point has been how long it took us to conclude negotiations and offer a contract: I thought rafa had complete control over transfers now, so why are we still "dragging our feet", talking rather than doing, and subsequently missing out on top targets? Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.....

Probably something to do with the shite owners and their tight pockets?

Rafa's off to Juve. No point signing anybody else, or even talking about it, unless we want to leave the new manager a moving in present (Cisse).

All the pieces are falling into place.

Juve want Skittles.

Just wait, Dirk and Lucas will be targeted next, in time for the new manager to take over in the summer.

Forward planning.

It's the old champ man tactic, sell your best players for a pittance to the team you're just about to move to.

Er, except it seems to be the opposite.

It's cunning, isn't it?

The Juve board has clearly been watching our season quite closely and thought to themselves "That's how to play football. Get their managar and as many of their players as possible, pronto, mama mia".

David N'Gog has been improving all season. Obviously he isn't the finished article, but he has come on leaps and bounds by having playing time.

I don't want us to buy mid-range strikers as this clogs the side up and blocks the path of the youngsters. Nando is the main man. If he is injured, Dirk Kuyt can take on the senior striker role while also giving opportunity to N'Gog and some of the other youngsters we have.

I would rather take this approach, unless, of course, we ever had the money to buy another world class striker. But until we are at that point, let's not clog the place up with middling players on big wages. Give the youngsters a go.

But we're likely to sign Jovanovic.

who gives a fuck?

I only ever care about players that actually play for us. If I don't see them in a Pool shirt then I don't give a 12" cock about them. We are gonna be linked with all manner of players until the season starts in August anyhow.

When I see them in a Liverpool shirt then I'll start to give a fuck about them.
