Alberto Aquilani has been ruled out of Liverpool's trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow night.

 

The Italian midfielder, who was an unused substitute in the win over Everton on Saturday, has contracted a vomiting bug.

 

Although he thought to be over the worst of it, boss Rafa Benitez admitted at Melwood today that Aquilani is too weak to be involved.

 

Said Benitez at his pre match press conference: "Alberto will not be in the squad.

 

"He has got the same thing that Martin Skrtel had last week.

 

"It is not too serious but Martin lost four kilos."

 

Benitez's main selection dilemma revolves around who will replace the suspended Sotirios Kyrgiakos in the centre of his defence.

 

Skrtel remains the favourite with vice captain Jamie Carragher likel yto continue at ri ght back but, predictably, Benitez is keeping all options open.

 

He said: "We will have to manage.

 

"We were not happy with the decision (to send Kyrgiakos off) but we cannot change it. So I will choose from Carra, Agger and Skrtel."

Fit counter attacking players include: Gerrard, N'Gog, Babel, Pacheco.

 

A counter attack is not only about how quick you are but the vital pass and I think only Gerrard and Pacheco have both attributes. N'gog could finish it though. I don't think we'll score a goal against Arsenal on the counter attack to be honest. If we win, it will be from a set piece and we'll sit and do our best to keep them out.

Going by the bibs in training, it's the same team as Saturday with Skrtel starting in place of The Greek.

 

Hopefully Skrtel doesn't let anyone walk past him to score like at the Emirates in the league cup.

 

Have you been to Melwood or are again some pictures players wearing bibs?

So the Skrtel website was alright. He didn´t start at Saturady because of this stomach virus and loosing 4 kilos.
