It's got to be true as the Daily Fail broke the news on 1st Jan....

Liverpool could bring in Greece right back Vasilis Torosidis to cover for injured England star Glen Johnson.

Anfield boss Rafa Benitez is short of options as he faces up to three months without Johnson, who tore medial ligaments in Tuesday’s 1-0 win at Aston Villa. Olympiakos defender Torosidis is said to be available for a knockdown fee, but Liverpool could face competition from Juventus and Atletico Madrid for his services.

Like Johnson, the 24-year-old is full back who likes to get forward. He is comfortable on either flank and, with 25 caps, is usually deployed at left back by Greece.

We are currently playing our best centre back out of position to try and fill in. Leaving ourselves open with a fairly average centre back pairing. If we have the Greek and Skrtel as the centre back pairing against Arsenal we will lose about 9-0. We need Carra back in and soon. I'd rather we were bringing in attacking talent, but if this is all we can get, then so be it. But we NEED Carra back in the middle. The first footballing side we play will run rings around our current back 2.

Looking through a few Olympiakos forums and they absolutely love him. They were talking about him being worth €20m and are gutted he has a release clause. He can play RB, LB, RM, CM and AM so he would give us a few options.

The release clause was 7m euros wasn't it? Beyond us I would have thought, unless we take it out of Aurelio and Degen's wages for next year :)
