Lionel Messi

Spot on.

I don't see why we need to criticise Rooney to praise Messi.

I do believe Messi is the more enjoyable player to watch, he floats along the pitch as opposed to battering it down like Rooney does.

I would say Messi has reached his potential quicker than Rooney has. But lets not get away from the fact we have two different players, with different qualities.

The MAJOR difference one of them plays for a gang of horrible bastards.

I don't criticise Rooney to praise Messi, I criticise Rooney because he's a fuckin balding, ugly, ignorant pleb.

Talented footballer, but a bad fucking bellend.

I would say that Messi is a class above him, as well, and it's clear for all to see.

So, in essence, Wayne isn't fit to polish Messi's boots, despite being a talented footballer, and he would likely just look confused and eat the shoe polish anyway.

I agree with you.

I think Messi has more 'class' then the likes of Ronaldo and Rooney. I hope that he stays at Barca for many years to come.

Here's one for ya. The real Ronaldo at 21/22 or Messi at the same age, who is better? my personal preference is Ronaldo. That player without the injuries he unfortunately suffered, would have taken over Pele and Maradonna as the greatest player to step on a football pitch.

Good point. Ronaldo for me too.

Don't underestimate Argentina this summer.

The most important thing for them now is that Higuain has cemented his place as the central striker. With Messi, Aguero or Tevez on either side they will be frightening.

Oh, and a midfield of Macherano protecting the back four and the likes of Cambiasso to join him the midfield three ain't exactly shitty either.

The real Ronaldo, at a young age, was scary. I'll never forget one if his goals for Barca where he just walked past a load of players and slotted it.

It's on this clip after 34 seconds. It's been ages since i've seen it but even then I just laughed out loud at it; watch how quick his feet are!

Ronaldo the real one was class, proper class but I'd never put him the top level of players of all time.

There is a group under the elite he belongs in.

Messi has a chance to join the likes of Johan, Pele, Franz, Zizou.

To be a great you have to have and keep it, the real Ronaldo blew it big time.

He may not have quite fulfilled his enourmous potential but he's still right up there with the very greatest to have ever played the game imo.

Manchester? Why would City fans say Rooney's better?

Obviously I was referring to United fans.

The amount of people who think that Rooney is the best in the world based on the amount of goals he's scored are fucking dickheads. Half of these people only watch English football.

I think that's bollocks. Ronaldo has one of the best goalscoring records of all time. He's got a career average of more than 1 goal every two games, he's won FIFA World player of the year 3 times, he's won the World Cup twice and was the top scorer in 2002. How exactly did he blow it? He's had injuries, but he's still scoring consistently. He's easily in that group with those players above.

If Zidane is in there then you've got to include Real Ronaldo too I reckon. That elite have made their names in world cups, thats what Ronaldo has done.
