Bunged some left-over veg into some veg stock earlier. Broccoli, onion, tomatoes, carrots, some garlic and some peas. Had it stewing away for a few hours. Dinner for the next 24 hours. The house smells lovely.

I only buy ready-made ones, so I don’t have a recipe, but meat and potato pie is easily my favourite savoury pie.

Stuck on a tray bake earlier because I had a tutorial to dial into and wanted something low maintenance with leftovers.
 

Spuds, butternut squash, red onion wedges, tenderstem broccoli, chicken thighs, rosemary and thyme, tons of salt and black pepper then baked garlic cloves chopped up and mixed with lemon juice and olive oil poured over all of it at the finish.

 

Had apple crumble and vanilla ice cream for afters.

 

Fat as fuck and ready to hibernate.

Repped. Sounds lovely, though I’d have had custard with the crumble, and the ice cream about half an hour later.

I felt crap when I got home from work last night but my missus had made sponge cake & custard for dessert after tea & that sorted me right out.

Decided to have something different for lunch today so stuck a large potato in the oven to bake. 

 

Baked potato with a homemade cheese and chive dip.

I think of 'dessert' as the general term for afters, and 'pudding' specifically as afters that are stodgy and/or served warm.

I can’t be making a scene and embarrassing the children now, can I? I’ve had to drop a few words from my vocabulary as they’re met with blank stares. 

 

Pudding at home could be anything. From cake and custard to a simple Mars bar.

I've always looked upon it as a dessert has to be sweet whereas a pudding can be sweet or savoury.
