We didn't learn anything new about Dirk tonight, it was the same kind of performance we've become accustomed to. Some good things mixed in with lots of mistakes.

If he'd scored a goal I think people would have ignored most of the mistakes, but he didn't, so the focus will probably be on a poor performance.

I thought he was poor last night, but i dont think thats due to him doing too many things badly or wrong, but just not doing enough things right, being in the right place, or supporting the attack well enough.

that starting line up should have been a 442, but clearly never was set out to be, so i understand that he wont be right up top all the time, but Ngog was isolated far too much again. Kuyt could have scored 2 if it wasnt for excellent saves, but if he had, his overall game still wouldnt have been good enough for my liking. Ngog had to work his bollocks off just to keep the ball until someone finally got up there. At one point, the man who made the run was fucking Skrtel.

I have truly run out of patience with Kuyt, but that in itself is futile, because he wont get dropped, or get taken off, so i'm just making myself less happy every time i go to a game.

Kuyt doesn't have the eye for goal to be a striker. He doesn't have the pace to be a winger. And he doesn't have the touch to play in the hole. His strengths are workrate and positional versatility but that is only enough to be a squad player at best, for a club with ambitions like ours. He could be our Park Ji Sung if you like. The calamity is that not only do we not have enough better players to keep him out of the starting lineup, but that you feel the manager regards him as belonging there.

Kuyt will always start when fit as he is Rafa's perfect player. He does what he's told to a tee. Holds the ball up regardless of it stifling an attack. He runs around like a blue arsed fly, especially backwards which fits into rafa's defensive mode at all costs. He's consistent when Rafa uses him as a winger or a striker, not his fault he's consistently shite most of the time. It's Rafa who needs to open his eyes and use different tactics and not Kuyt. I'm sure Kuyt gives 110% every game. Imagine how crap he'd be if he didn't.:notamused:
