Babel, Voronin, Dossena and Degen leaving simply to reduce the wage bill would be a move in the right direction, in my view. We'd lose some utter shite, save some money and create opportunities for youngsters to fill the gap. I wonder what percentage of possible games they've started on average over the course of their Liverpool "careers". If it's 10% I'd be amazed and yet I reckon they've cost us well over £30m and counting so far.

This is why you need a director of football as well as a manager someone to balance the books on the wages and make decisions about players being bought in and there wages in the whole scheme of the total players wages. In some cases the DOF would tell Rafa he cant have X without sellling Y. Its much better having someone who knows something about football making that decision rather than Purlsow or Parry

Nah john it was 80m, ask mick and gillett

If Gillett told me tomorrow was Friday,I wouldn't believe him,

Gillett told Mick that he never made those remarks about "spades in the ground" within 60 days.

Not that I don't believe Mick,I wouldn't believe a word out of the mouth of Georgie Boy.

Go and check, when they took over, the bought the Club for £175m Approx and took on approx £45m of debt, £220m approx in total.
