Just had abig falling out with the wife over money. We've finally got a bit saved up and she just can't wait to spend it.  We've recently moved house & doubled our mortgage. The house is great.

She wants to put a double extension on it for work instead of doing a garage conversion.

Bill Hicks was right -

"I've learned a lot about women. I think I've learned exactly how the fall of man occured in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, and Adam said one day, "Wow, Eve, here we are, at one with nature, at one with God, we'll never age, we'll never die, and all our dreams come true the instant that we have them." And Eve said, "Yeah... it's just not enough is it?"

The garage conversion belongs to the world of a man thread...

Been called allkinds today as I took the kids out swimming and they put their feet all over two plastic bags in the car.

Turns out that there are banners in these bags for her Mums birthday next week. They have apparently been on the floor in the back of the car for 3 days. However, I was supposed to be a mind reader and know this even though she has never mentioned it before and I was a lazy cunt for not moving them or bringing them into the house to keep safe.

Was in Sainsbury's by my work before. Some dozy woman who works there served a Muslim woman in a Hijab while I was standing next to her.

The Muslim woman says "its freezing today isn't it?.

Dozy woman "yeah it feels like it was summer last week"

Muslim woman "yes, this years gone nowhere,  it's almost over"

Dozy woman "yeah, christmas soon, you'll be putting your deccies up soon got any plans for Christmas love?. I usually have my family over and we have a few bevies, what are your plans?"

Me and the fella next to me both pissed ourselves laughing. The Muslim woman smiled to us and just said "to be honest, Christmas isn't really my scene"

I have a flat tyre and out wheel nut key is not in the car.  Having torn both cars apart and the house just in case it now seems increasingly likely that she threw it away when tidying up the car before our trip to France in the summer. So now I need to get the car to a tyre place on a flat, have them remove and replace the bolts for God knows how much and then sort the tyre out. Because she wanted the car to look nice.

Better off calling someone out to do it at your place. Does your insurance not cover such stuff? Or ADAC etc?

Kwikfit do reasonably-priced mobile tyre replacements, it'd be worth pricing them up than trying to drive on a flat.

Or lend a nut key from someone. I reckon Paulie is having a Blond moment.

They'll take me to a garage to fix it but all the garages I've rang who specialise in this don't do pegeouts

Isn't there a variation of keys ?

They're all different the locking ones or mostly different.

Yes, but they are hardly car specific. You can get one that fits in most Supermarkets these days, never mind going to a Workshop.

Not a great day for anything French.

I heard my ma in law do a fart before so it's a triple whammy

I’m driving a Peugeot mate. Pop round to ours and you can lend mine.

I'm going to ring the dealership when it opens to see if they hold spares as I'll need one eventually but if they can't I might take you up on that

Sound, no worries. Give us a shout and I’ll send you the directions.

Whatever you do, don't drive your car on a flat mate.

No I won't. My neighbour is a mechanic (he wishes he'd told me he's a banker by now I think) said he'd chisel it off and replace it for me if we can't get one sorted. Tempted to just replace the locking ones with bog standard ones

The dealer will ask for the code is the service book and have to order you a new one.  Cost me £50 when kwikfit swiped mine during an MOT.

ALWAYS check whenever you get any work done. Bastards.

I've a feeling we're talking about different things mate. I suspect paulie has alloys and while not unique,  the locking wheel nut wont be that common.

Maybe in Germany but I doubt supermarkets sell them. Well not in the UK anyway.  Halfords might do a universal one.

Just to be clear it's like the below pic but the pegs are different. We're not talking about a regular lug nut here

Yeah cleared up now. The manufacturers make these things so you find it difficult to use anybody else other than their own dealers. Most people can't do small jobs themselves despite having the gear, this just stops them using Gary from down the road etc.

Anyway, hope you get it sorted PD.

A woman in the job had a flat and when I asked her what happened to her spare tyre, as it wasn't in the boot, they took it out and replaced it with a sub. Ffs. Husbands idea.
