Venue: Mare Street Market in London Fields

Price: £9.50

Verdict: 7/10

Sausage was excellent. Bacon was great. Beans were well prepared. The black pudding I wasn’t a big fan of unfortunately. The texture was too cakey. Also was a bit baffled as to why they halved my mushroom.

ARdja, fair play to you for posting your breakfasts as I appreciate the trouble you have gone to photograph them and enjoy the comments they provoke but I have a serious question. Are you the CEO of a merchant banking firm? The prices you appear to pay so much for seemingly so little. It all makes me hanker back for Arthur's cafe on the East Lancs Road and a belly buster for less than 'half a kick'.

That's thing, he's spending his own cash, yes, he is a millionaire, but he's spent probably £350k on shite breakfasts on this thread alone. The guy is a putting his pension on the line for us to comment.

Mare Street market? That's hipster central. Please say you didn't go there for a beard trim, mate.

I wish that was true, as that would’ve meant that I could grow a decent beard for starters. I used to live around the corner, had a big night and stayed over at my old flat to avoid paying £30 for Uber home. There were a few of us, and we just wanted to go somewhere we didn’t have to line up, and Mare Street Market despite its flaws, is very spacious.. I hadn’t been, so I checked the menu.. and they had a fry-up, so we decided to go there. It was *very* wanky though.

That blackpudding looks epic. I guess the cakey texture to it, is probably down to the amount of oats added, but then thats what you get with get a proper piece of BP. Nice amount of pork fat in there as well and I'd go as far to say thats probably the best picture of a  Black Pudding thats benn posted on this site, since Emile Heskey.

For the BP alone, I award you an 9, for that lot.

If I am seeing this right there are two different types of bread on the plate, so with black pudding, bacon, sausage, mushroom, tomato, beans, eggs and two different types of bread there are nine different components. Just over £1 per component.

If all the components were tip-top this would make a good meal, with good value represented. Sadly that's not the case here.

Good work aRdja, I will definitely get a picture up for your scrutiny soon...

It will be a fried breakfast.
