There is no manager ever who had a higher regard for and relationship with the fans of his club than Shanks. Fact.

 

Therefore to even imply anything about what his attitude to Hillsborough would have been is just plainly ignorant beyond belief.

 

Tbh I hate it when people have a go at the quote cos it was plainly a semi humerous remark as much of what the great man said was. If pressed on things like if say a family member dying or football was more important then everyone who ever knew him knows what Shanks would say - so do not even discuss it any more.

This guy is on the Times Podcast this week, comes across as the type who likes to use long words to prove how intelligent he is. Has got Tony Evans I think having a go back at him though.

 

Also discuss if Torres is the best striker in the world, and how the midfielder may play when Aquilani regains fitness, so worth a listen.
