It’s weird how you lot can like or at least tolerate someone until the point they say something negative about JC, or have different political views and then you turn. Surely his political views are only a tiny part of him/them.  It must be so difficult applying the purity test all the time.

what's are yer on about here Maggie's Boy?

It is possible to like someones music without liking or agreeing with them politically.

It's also fucking stupid when rich bods, try to tell the workers, where they may or may not have originated, how they should vote, in order to make a life that they will be highly unlikely to ever have to live again.

Fuck Bono, Geldof and Noel - good musicians, but fucking political role models - nah they're all tax dodging cunts.

I have no issue with you sharing the sensibility of toryism, however as far as I'm aware you're not selling yerself as a man of the people - you're a proud conservative fucker, so at least that's a level of honesty these fuckers are beyond.

What? He was asked a question and answered it, you’ve got your knickers in a twist because you don’t like the answer and he’s not as left as you want.  If he was offering his services at Corbynfest a few weeks ago I bet you wouldn’t mind pop stars getting involved in politics.  It’s ok to have an opinion as long as the one you approve off. I find that fucking weird.  Like when you all wank on about not drinking with or being friends with a Tory.

The problem is I hav never stated I wouldn’t drink or be mates with a tory, on the contrary my outlaws are tory’s, very nice people, just that I ideologically oppose their politics.

they come out with the tired bollocks about Boris being a card etc, still invite them ove to stay with us for 3 months, and will share my house, friendship and ale collection with them.

i also have mates who are blue from wilmslow, we drink and bleacher and argue about most things, it’s not hard, we’re grown ups.

if a musician does something politically that is inline with my beliefs, such as roger waters current support for the Palestinians - I’ll applaud it, equally when someone acts the cunt they should be lambasted, but - and this is the important part - I won’t take my political cues from these people.

made up mick Jones worked with justice tonight, love the work of joe strummer and the rock against racism movement, but politically I read Chomsky and Pilger, and listen to as many considered news sources as possible (including some good reference points that get posted on here) in order to get my ideas, and form opinion.

sober Sunday mornings are righteous times to be awake.

Nah.  It's really not weird at all.

A bit more information being that they disagree with your politics. What if they think Corbyn isn’t far enough left? Would that mean you didn’t like them too?

NG is left leaning, just not left leaning enough for you. So therefore he’s anTory? Fucking weird.

If you really want to understand what Gallagher is saying, he states it, I could never vote Tory (implying he may agree with them rather than the communist Corbyn).

hes a fucking sell out, and if he had Rangers top on Stig would be waxing lyrical about the halcyon days of Gough and McCoist.

and full disclosure- there is no embarrassment in that, as a ten year old, brought up in a somewhat strict Irish catholic family, with Celtic kits alongside my Liverpool kits, I got a lot of stick when I lashed them in to follow Souness when he returned to these shores at Rangers.

He’s said in the past he’d never vote Tory, he was a cheerleader for Blair.  He’s left, but not left enough? If only there was a book...

He’s left in as much as he likes to be a man of the people, and he came from moss side and blah blah fucking bleurgh. But when it comes to taxation and shit like that, jacks alright, do a few charity gigs, but fucked if I’m sharing me hard earned, blue rinse Tory cunt is our Noel.

Thats fine, lots of people are like that, Cilla black and tarbuck are prime examples.

but why state I could never vote Tory, cool move along the bus Noel, but stop saying you’re on the left, at best you are centre right.

Because he doesn’t like Corbyn he’s Centre right? Weird.

I think, but may be wrong, you are accusing him of being a champagne socialist.  Pretty sure that gets ridiculed as being a bull shit label.

You lot move the goalposts so often it’s difficult to keep up.

point 1 very much so,

point 2 by whom?

moving the goal posts is bollocks, you have no idea where I stand you keep lumping me in with "you lot", do you see your participation here as roughing it with the Scouse socialists? kind of like a tory reverse of the champagne socialist?

Im trying to understand this. If anyone who doesn’t like JC is Centre-Right, then he must be Centre and not left at all. Is that correct? Seems even more weird to me.

On pretty much all the political threads on here the Champagne socialist label is attacked as bollocks.  I’m pretty sure I heard James OBrian doing the same on the radio this week. Just because you are rich doesn’t mean you can’t be on the left. Or are you going biblical on this ‘it’s harder for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than a rich man support JC’ another purity test. Funny one too considering all the public school boys on JCs staff (and JC himself too).

I use ‘you lot’ in exactly the same way you use ‘Tories’.

For example, when he was drinking champagne with Tony Blair did any of you think ‘That’s all well and good Noel but for me you just aren’t left wing enough’?

Mick Jagger - Tory.  Brilliant music.

Billy Bragg - Socialist.  Brilliant music.

Style Council - Socialists.  Terrible music.

Noel Gallagher - hypocrite for playing on the down-to-earth housing estate boy made good.  Terrible music.

Nothing confusing here.
